How We Pick Our Football Tips
Every selection published on thatsagoal.com goes through the same research process before it makes the page:
Form — We look at the last six matches for each team, home and away, separately. Recent form is the most reliable short-term indicator.
Team news — Injuries and suspensions can flip the value in a match entirely. We don’t publish weekend tips before Friday because Thursday and Friday press conferences often change the picture.
Head-to-head records — Some fixtures have consistent patterns. Derbies, rivalries and specific tactical matchups often produce predictable results over time.
Statistics — We use match data from Opta, PlayerStats and Soccerway. For bet builder tips in particular, we lean heavily on foul averages, card rates, shot volumes and corner data to find value in the player and match statistics markets.
Odds — We identify the best available price for each selection. A bad bet at good odds can still offer value. We always note if a selection is better taken at a specific bookmaker.
What we don’t do: We don’t pad the page with tips just because there are fixtures on. If there’s nothing we believe in on a quiet midweek, we won’t publish a tip. Quality over quantity.

BTTS stands for Both Teams to Score. The bet wins if both teams score at least once in the match, regardless of who wins or what the final score is. See our BTTS tips page.
What is an accumulator?
An accumulator — or acca — combines multiple match predictions into one bet. All selections must win for the bet to pay out. The odds of each selection multiply together, meaning four short-priced favourites can combine into a 10/1 or bigger return. See our accumulator tips page.
What are over 2.5 goals tips?
Over 2.5 goals means the match must have three or more total goals for the bet to win. It’s one of the most popular football betting markets because roughly 50% of matches end with three or more goals. What is an anytime goalscorer tip?
An anytime goalscorer bet wins if your selected player scores at any point in the match, regardless of whether their team wins or loses.
