Aston Villa v Arsenal Predictions

Arsenal defeated Wolves 2-0 in their opening fixture, but their performance was convincing and it could’ve been more. We’re backing them to pick up three points on the road at Villa Park this weekend. As they look to overcome Man City at the top of the pile, there’s no room for complacency and they need to go in to every fixture with intensity as they need the three points each week to mount a charge.

These two both finished in the top four last season, and we’re expecting a game full of quality and goals. We’ve taken both teams to score in this bet builder, as both teams play expansive attacking football. The Gunners scored a massive 91 goals last season, with Villa notching 76, and we think both teams will score a lot again this season.

Ollie Watkins is Villa’s man, and they’ve done well to keep him in Birmingham for the 24/25 season. In his 37 appearances in the league last season, he bagged 19 goals and had a huge 47 shots on target, an average of well over one per game. Taking him to have at least one shot on target here boosts this bet builder to 16/1.

We’re taking just the one player to be carded in this fixture. Matty Cash will be in for a tough shift against a rapid and skilful Arsenal front line, and we’re taking him for a card in this one. In his 29 league appearances last season, he collected eight yellow cards, making 30 fouls which is an average of over one per game. We’re expecting him to be forced into making a number of fouls here, and think he is excellent odds to pick up a card.

As well as this weekend’s bet builder tips we also have a Premier League accumulator tip for both Saturday and Sunday and this will be the same throughout the season.
