The second weekend of the Premier League season is upon us, and the opening fixture of the weekend is by the Seaside as Man United travel to face Brighton. Both sides will be looking to build on their wins from matchday one, as United were narrow victors over Fulham and Brighton beat 10-man Everton 0-3 at Goodison Park.

United will be hopeful of a top four finish this season. They are 7/4 on Bet 365 to do that.

Brighton will be hopeful of a top half finish, and will see themselves as slight outsiders for a European place. For the top half finish, they are 8/15. To finish in the top six, they are a reasonably priced 4/1.

Brighton vs Man United Predictions

United overcame Fulham in their opening fixture, and we’re betting them to pick up another three points on the road this weekend. They will be looking to remain consistent as they fight for a place in the top four, and I think they’ll be strong enough to get the win in this one.

Danny Welbeck has been a threat in the Premier League for a lot of years now, and he’s continuing to be a thorn in the side of defenders at Brighton. He got off the mark in their victory over Everton last weekend, and we’re expecting him to have at least one shot on target here against his former side. Bruno Fernandes is our second player to have a shot on target. The Portugal midfielder had 41 shots on target in his 35 prem appearances last season, scoring 10 goals. He’s good odds to have a shot on target here.

We’re taking just the one player to be carded in this fixture – Lewis Dunk. The central defender will be in for a tough 90 minutes against a powerful United frontline here, and we’re expecting him to make a number of fouls, putting him on the ref’s radar. Last season, he collected seven yellow cards and one red, and we think he’s good odds to get his first of the season here.
