Spurs welcome Villa in Sunday’s 2pm Premier League fixture. Ange Postecoglu’s side have won eight of their last 10 fixtures in all competitions, including last time out against Man City in the Carabao Cup. They are currently eighth in the league and are 12/5 to finish in the top four.

Aston Villa have had a good start to the season with five wins, three draws and one defeat in their opening nine. They are 7/2 to finish in the top four.

We’re backing Spurs to get the result this weekend, despite being five points behind their visitors. As previously mentioned, they have won roughly of their last 10 in all competitions and I think they’ll continue their fine form in this one. They’ll be full of confidence following their midweek win over Man City, and I think they’ll make use of their home advantage here.

Given Villa’s good start to the season, I think they’ll also get on the scoresheet here and both teams will score. In their last 20 games in all competitions, Spurs have scored in 19 of them. Ange Postecoglu sets his teams up in a very attacking way, and I think they’ll be dangerous in attack and also vulnerable at the back. Villa have scored in 15 of their last 20, so I think there will be goals here.

Timo Werner was on the scoresheet during the week and we’re backing him to have at least one shot on target in this one. The former Chelsea man is yet to score in the league this season, so the goal midweek was his first of the season. In the league, he has had five shots with three of them on target. I expect this one to be end to end, and think Werner will be confident from his first goal of the season against City. He’s good odds for a shot on target here.

We’re backing just one player to be booked here – John McGinn. The Scotland midfielder is known for getting stuck in in the middle of the park, and I think there’s a great chance he will be carded here. He’s recently returned from injury but has played seven league matches for Villa this season, being carded in two of them. He has made six fouls this season, an average of just under one per game, so I think he’s good odds for a yellow here.
