Newcastle vs Tottenham Betting Odds:

  • The two are very evenly matched with the bookies. Both are 6/4 for the win on Bet365.
  • The draw is 3/1 between the two sides.

Sunday lunch time sees Ange Postecoglu’s Spurs side travel to St James’ Park to take on Eddie Howe’s Newcastle. The home side have won one and drawn one in their two fixtures so far this season. Spurs have the same record, with a 1-1 draw against Leicester and a 4-0 win over Everton to their name. The Magpies will be looking to better their 7th placed finish from last season. They are 8/11 on to finish in the top 6.

Spurs were just two points away from a top four finish last year. They are 2/1 to make it this time around.

Newcastle vs Tottenham Predictions

Both Newcastle and Spurs have had a decent start to the season and are yet to be beaten in the league after two games. I think this will be a difficult afternoon for Spurs, with the Magpies playing a high press, giving the visitors no space and making full use of their home advantage. Newcastle hammered Spurs in their last league match up at St James’, with a 4-0 win back in April. We’re backing them for the victory again.

That said, I do think both teams will score. In a game between two teams who will be aiming for at least a top six finish, I think this will be end to end. Both teams have a serious threat in attack, and I think there will be goals in this one.

Anthony Gordon is one of Newcastle’s main threats. There has been rumours of him leaving the club this summer to join his hometown club Liverpool, but that hasn’t come to fruition and Newcastle fans will be thankful for that. The former Everton man made 35 appearances last season, scoring 11 and having 31 shots on target. He’s good odds to have at least one on target here.

We’re taking just the one player to be carded in this one; Cristian Romero. Romero is an extremely physical defender, and coming up against the likes of Aleksander Isak here, I expect him to make a number of fouls. He picked up seven yellows and one red card last season in 33 appearances. I think there’s a real chance of him getting booked this weekend.

As well as this weekend’s bet builder tips we also have a Premier League accumulator tip for both Saturday and Sunday and this will be the same throughout the season.
