West Ham vs Man City Predictions

Man City have again started strong this season with two wins from two, a 2-0 win over Chelsea and a 4-1 win over newly promoted Ipswich Town. With six goals in two games, I don’t think they’ll struggle to overcome West Ham in this one. We’re backing them to make it three from three.

Jeremy Doku has started both of Man City’s league fixtures so far this season. In those games, he has had one shot on target, so an average of 0.5 in the two games. Last season, he made 29 appearances, scoring three goals and having 19 shots on target. City will create a hatful of chances here, and I think Doku will have at least one shot on target.

We’re going with two players to enter the book in this one. Aaron Wan-Bissaka has made the switch from Man United to West Ham, and he put in a stellar defensive display last time out against his former side Crystal Palace, making a number of important tackles. The full back is a very good tackler, but he will have to make many against City this weekend, so we’re banking on at least a couple being mistimed. He’s good odds for a card here.

We’re also taking midfielder Mateo Kovacic to be carded. The former Chelsea man made 30 league appearances last season, picking up four cards and fouling 17 times. In his overall Prem career, he has been carded 31 times, and we’re backing that to be 32 by Saturday night.
