Arsenal vs Aston Villa 35/1 Bet Builder, Predictions and Betting Tips

Arsenal betting tips

Arsenal vs Aston Villa bet builder tips and match predictions for Saturday’s fixture in the Premier League with shots on target and yellow cards betting tips.

Betting odds:

  • Arsenal are 12/25 favourites for the win at home
  • The draw is 31/10
  • A Villa away win is 6/1

Arsenal got back to winning ways last time out, with a North London Derby victory over Spurs taking them to within four points of table toppers Liverpool. They are now 3/1 to win the Premier League.

Villa are seventh, just three points behind Newcastle in fourth. The are 8/1 to finish in the top four this season.

Arsenal vs Aston Villa Predictions

Arsenal got back on track on Wednesday evening with a 2-1 victory at home to arch-rivals Spurs, following a disappointing two fixtures in both the Carabao Cup and FA Cup. Wednesday’s victory means they are now unbeaten in 11 league matches, with their last defeat in the league coming against Newcastle at the beginning of November. Last time Arsenal and Villa met, the Gunners won 2-0, and I think they’ll win again in this one on Saturday.

Ollie Watkins is having a fantastic season up top for Villa. The England striker has nine league goals to his name so far this season, with 26 shots on target in his 21 Premier League appearances. This game won’t be a walk in the park for Arsenal and Villa will make it very difficult for them. I expect them to make a good number of chances, and I think Ollie Watkins will have at least one shot on target.

We’re going for two players to pick up yellows in this fixture – midfielders Mikel Merino and Youri Tielemans. Merino has played 14 league games for Arsenal so far this season, and in that time, he has picked up two yellow cards, making 18 fouls, an average over one per game. The Villa midfield draw a lot of fouls, mostly John McGinn who has drawn 38 fouls this season. McGinn has been sidelined through injury of late so may not feature, but Merino will still face the likes of Youri Tielemans, who has drawn a massive 35 fouls this season. Tielemans is the second man we’re backing for a card. The Villa midfielder has started all 21 league matches this season and has picked up three yellow cards, committing 26 fouls, an average of over one per game. I think both midfielders are good odds for a card here.
