Everton vs Arsenal Predictions
I’m backing Arsenal to win this one over Everton at home. The Gunners are unbeaten in 14 of their last 15 league matches, and have lost only one home game in the league this season, a defeat to West Ham back in February. Everton are winless in their last five league matches, with a defeat to Liverpool last time out in the Merseyside derby following four consecutive draws. Arsenal were held to a 0-0 draw at the Emirates earlier in the season, but I think they’ll come out on top in this one.
We’ve gone for two players to have one or more shots on target here: Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice. Saka is coming back from injury and we all know how much of a threat he is in the red of Arsenal. He has six goals and 10 assists in 17 Premier League appearances this season, with another four goals coming in five Champions League appearances. In the league, he has had 19 shots on target, an average of over one per game. He was on the score sheet last time out in their win over Fulham.
Declan Rice has two goals to his name in the league this season, with one in the Carabao Cup. He has had eight shots on target this season, so doesn’t have a high average. However, I think Arsenal will have chances here, and I think that makes him good odds to have a shot on target.
James Tarkowski made the headlines midweek following a terrible challenge on Alexis Mac Allister, which remarkably only got him a yellow card. He has been booked six times this season, five times in 30 league appearances and once in his four Carabao Cup matches this season. He has made 33 fouls in the league, an average of over one per game. I think there’s a good chance of him picking up another booking here.
