We’re taking a bit of a risk by backing Liverpool to be winning after the first 10 minutes. Accrington Stanley will be right up for this one of course, it’s a huge game for them. They’ll be backs to the wall and determined not to let the game slip away early doors. That said, although Liverpool will probably rotate their squad, I think they have more than enough quality to take the lead early. I don’t think both teams will score. Anfield is a formidable venue and incredibly difficult for any side to make a real impact on the game. I don’t see League Two Accrington Stanley having many, if any chances, and I don’t think they’ll get on the scoresheet. Despite winning their last two matches in League Two, they aren’t having a great season and find themselves 19^th in a 24-team league, with a goal difference of -8. I think it’ll be incredibly difficult for them to score this weekend.

I think Curtis Jones will start in the middle of the park this weekend, and given how much of the ball Liverpool will have, I think there’s a great chance of him breaking forward and having at least one shot on target. He has scored three times in the league this season, having 10 shots on target in his 16 appearances. I think if Jones plays, there’s a great chance he will have at least one on target.

We’re going for Accrington Stanley’s Donald Love to be carded. The Scottish full-back has been booked on nine occasions in his 22 league two this appearances season and will be keen to make an impression on the big stage at Anfield. He will be in for a torrid time, and will need to be on top of his game if he’s to keep the score down for his team. I think he’s great odds for a booking here.
