Liverpool vs Wolves Predictions
Unsurprisingly, we’re backing Liverpool to pick up the three points as they return home to Anfield this weekend. They haven’t won in two, losing in the cup when they fielded a very weakened team against Plymouth, before drawing away to city rivals Everton last time out. We’re backing them to get back to winning ways here and maintain their charge for the title, against a Wolves side who have only won one of their last six league matches.
Mo Salah is the leagues top scorer with 22 league goals in his 24 appearances. He has also bagged twice in the Carabao Cup and three times in the Champions League this season. He has five goals in his last four matches, and I think there’s a very good chance he will get on the scoresheet again here. Liverpool will be at it from the off as they often are at home, creating a lot of chances, and I think Salah will score again.
We’ve gone for two players to be carded in this one – Andre Trindade and Alexis Mac Allister. Trindade has been carded three times in 19 league appearances this season. It’ll be a very difficult match in midfield for him here against a Liverpool side with arguably the strongest midfield in the league, and I reckon he will be forced into a foul or two. Mac Allister has picked up 10 bookings across the Premier League and Champions League so far this season, six in the league and four in the Champions League. He has made 45 fouls in 23 league matches, meaning he is one foul shy of an average of two per game. I expect him to get stuck in as usual here, and is great odds to pick up his 11th card of the season.
