Newcastle vs Nottm Forest Predictions

Both teams will be desperate for the win in this one as Forest look to extend the gap, and Newcastle look to close it. Forest have had a slight dip in form of late, losing two of their last three in the league. That said, they did hit Brighton for seven in that time with no reply. Newcastle have scored in nine of their last 10 matches in all competitions. Both teams have scored in nine of the last 10 meetings between these two, dating back to 2016, and I think it’s a solid bet here.

I’m also backing over two goals in the game, which coupled with both teams to score should be a fairly safe bet. For Newcastle, there have been more than two goals in eight of their last 10 fixtures in all competitions. For Forest, there have been two or more in seven of their last 10. In fact, there have been four or more in four of their last five in all competitions.

We’re going for each team’s main striker to have 2+ shots on target. Alexander Isak and Chris Wood have both had great seasons and because I expect goals here, I’d be silly to not include them in the betting tips. Isak has scored 19 goals in all competitions this season, with 17 in 23 in the league. He averages just under 1.5 shots on target per game. Chris Wood has 18 goals so far this season, all coming in the league in his 25 appearances. He averages just over one shot on target per game, with 28 in the league. I expect this one to be end-to-end, with plenty goals, so I think these two have a good chance of having multiple shots on target.
