Every game so far for Ralph Hasenhüttl’s men has ended with over 2.5 goals. First up was the 4-1 demolition by Tottenham Hotspur, before they came back from two goals down to draw 2-2 against Southampton.

Fernandes was previously a guarantee for shots on target when he first signed for United, but since the addition of Cristiano Ronaldo, the United star’s goals and overall output up top has significantly decreased. On the other hand, with United winning without Ronaldo last time out, he could sit on the bench again which allows for Fernandes to do his best work.

At the same time as Ronaldo’s suspected absence, this could be the game where the midfield mastermind of Casemiro slots into the United side, allowing for more of an attacking force from Fernandes. What’s more, if Ronaldo is off the pitch, his compatriot will be on penalty duty too.

MAN UNITED TO WIN

I do think United will win here. They’ve had a solid record against Hasenhüttl’s side in recent years, and it was only two campaigns ago in which they smashed them 9-0. Only time will tell if ten Hag’s tactics and inspiration from Monday night will roll into the season on a more consistent basis, but after the win against Liverpool, it’s tough to back against them.
