Bodo/Glimt to beat Zalgiris Vilnius

One of the more free-scoring sides left in the competition, Bodo/Glimt are in their pomp at the moment in European competition.

The side from the Arctic Circle were incredibly unlucky not to beat AC Milan in the 2020/21 Europa League qualifying rounds, losing 3-2 at the San Siro in the one-legged format during COVID-19. However, last season brought about their best in European football yet, progressing to the Europa Conference League.

They took the scalp of Roma in the Champions League group stages – beating them 6-1 – and going unbeaten home and away against the Italian giants alongside Zorya Luhansk and CSKA Sofia in a mesmerising campaign. After beating Celtic home and away, AZ Alkmaar on aggregate and Roma again in the quarter-finals, their work came undone with a 4-0 loss at the Stadio Olimpico; needless to say they should be proud.

And having scored 12 goals in their two legs so far against Linfield and Klaksvik, there is no reason that at 1/3 they can’t beat Zalgiris – they’ve beaten them in the last two years, too.

Al Ahly to beat Pharco FC

Perhaps the most unknown fixture on the accumulator, Al Ahly are the giants of Egyptian football. Having won the Egyptian Premier League in all but four years since 2004, the Cairo-based side are still . Standing in their way are Pharco, who have only won three games away from home all season, with those coming against bottom-half outfits. Al Ahly, if they win their two games in hand, will remain just three points behind leaders Zamalek – and what better way to put the pressure on by winning. At 1/3, it looks a safe bet.

Crvena Zvezda to beat Pyunik

These are the lowest odds on the accumulator tip, and it is easy to see why. Pyunik have only won 7 of their 18 Champions League qualifying ties in the past, with their one win in the second round of the qualifying coming this year against Luxembourger side F91 Dudelange.

They are coming up against a genuine European powerhouse in Crvena Zvezda, and will do extremely well to win in Belgrade having only won once in nine attempts away from home in the second qualifying round in their history. 1/5 odds should see to that…

FCSB to beat Dunajska Streda

This is the highest price on the accumulator, although that is likely to do with the fact that it is the only away win. FCSB, one of the strongest sides in Romania, come up against a side who only really entered European competition in 2018, have struggled against bigger opponents in recent years and never reaching the group stages. That could well be expected to continue this time around at 13/10.

Dynamo Kyiv to beat SK Sturm Graz

The Ukrainian giants have notably lost some recruitments in the last 12 months for obvious reasons, but it should not deter them against Graz. Wins over Olympiacos, Gent, Club Brugge and Fenerbahce in recent years show that they still have prowess, and experience from players such as Denys Popov and Denys Garmash should carry them over the line at 13/11.
