Bournemouth betting tips

Bournemouth vs Luton Town preview and betting tips for Saturday’s Premier League showdown from the Vitality.

Enjoying what has been a stunning Premier League romp and skyrocketing their way up the table, Andoni Iraola’s men will be looking to make another statement on the south coast.

While Luton might have secured a famous top-flight return this season, the Hatters find themselves at the heart of a relegation scrap and facing a major six-pointer here.

Bournemouth vs Luton Town Prediction

Although Bournemouth might have been enduring a public struggle prior to November’s international break, Saturday’s hosts have come roaring back in some style. Last seen storming their way to an iconic 3-0 victory away at Premier League giants Manchester United, the Cherries have now collected 13 points from their previous five top-flight appearances. Picking up some heavyweight scalps on their recent flurry, Iraola’s camp should be smelling a potential opportunity here.

Suffering another worrying collapse last weekend as they eventually slumped to a 2-1 defeat against Manchester City, Luton are facing a real uphill battle in their bid to avoid the drop this season. Losing each of their previous three Premier League appearances and showing some extended defensive issues, Rob Edwards’ side have also won just one of their last 10 straight outings. Already sat four points adrift of safety, Luton should face a stern challenge this weekend.

Chris Sutton’s Bournemouth v Luton Prediction

I was at Old Trafford last weekend for BBC Radio 5 Live and Bournemouth really impressed me in their win over Manchester United. They were excellent.

I don’t think the Cherries are overly bothered about possession, but they have a plan that is working. Their midfield duo of Ryan Christie and Lewis Cook is very effective, and I am a huge fan of Dominic Solanke, who leads the line for them so well.

I think Solanke has got a huge chance of going to next summer’s European Championship – it’s not a case of saying England manager Gareth Southgate can’t ignore him, more the case that I don’t think he will.

Bournemouth have won four of their past five games and drew with Aston Villa in the other one. I am expecting them to collect three more points here, even though Luton will be well-organised and determined.

I actually have a lot of sympathy for Hatters manager Rob Edwards. He has managed well and his team have exceeded expectations in terms of their performances, and I don’t think their points tally truly reflects what they should have picked up so far.

It’s at home where Luton have given the big clubs a scare though, which is another reason I am backing Bournemouth here.

Sutton’s prediction: 2-0

Lawro’s Bournemouth vs Luton Prediction

Bournemouth are on a great run of four wins in their last five games which is as good as anybody in the division. Luton did well against Manchester City before the champions turned it round. I’m going for Bournemouth. The next step for Luton is that they’ve got to start picking up some points away from home. Bournemouth 2-0 Luton.
