Originally coming through the doors at St. James’ Park and signing up for a two-and-a-half year deal, Howe also received a significant pay rise from his tenure at Bournemouth.

With his initial contract at Newcastle seeing Howe’s salary stand at £3million each season, that was reportedly quadruple what the 45-year-old received during his eight-year stay on the south coast.
