Reasons for our MLS Accumulator Tips (04/07/19)

Leaders of the Eastern Conference, the Philadelphia Union, are in action and will be hoping to get back to winning ways to extend their advantage over DC United in the race to secure the first automatic play-off place.

Whilst in the Western Conference, leaders Los Angeles FC are also in action against the bottom club, Sporting Kansas City. The top of the table side will be hoping for another win to increase their lead over city rivals, LA Galaxy.

 

New York City vs Seattle Sounders Tip – Draw

Both sides are very much in the hunt for a play-off place with New York City sitting sixth in the Eastern Conference, whilst the Seattle Sounders are third in the Western Conference. New York City have won just three home games at Yankee Stadium this season, but these have come in their last four games, including a superb 4-2 success against Philadelphia Union. Their visitors have narrowly lost their last three games on the road but will have been boosted by their latest 1-0 victory over the Vancouver Whitecaps. With New York City drawing eight of their 15 games so far, and defences likely to be on top, we see this ending in a low scoring draw.

 

Orlando City vs Philadelphia Union – Tip BTTS

Philadelphia Union currently lead the Eastern Conference by a single point and are the second highest scoring team in the MLS with 34 goals from their 19 games, having failed to score on just three occasions. However, Union are also susceptible to conceding goals and travel to the Orlando City Stadium to face a side who have won three of their last five home games, and who are third in the Eastern Conference form table. Orlando need the win to boost their chances of jumping into the play-off places, so we expect an open game and goals from both teams.

 

Minnesota United vs San Jose Earthquakes – Tip BTTS

A game between two clubs sitting in the Western Conference play-off places, separated by just one point. Minnesota United sit sixth with seven wins and three draws from their opening 17 games, whilst San Jose Earthquakes are fifth with seven wins and four draws from their opening 17 games. San Jose are in the better form, coming into the game with just one defeat from their last 10 fixtures. However, they meet a Minnesota United team at Allianz Field who scored seven goals in their last outing against Cincinnati, so they will be full of confidence. Both sides know a win will boost their chances of securing a play-off place, so we predict another game full of chances and both sides getting on the score sheet.

 

Sporting Kansas City vs Los Angeles FC – Tip Over 2.5 Goals

Our final selection on our MLS accumulator tips sees two sides face each other who are experiencing very different seasons. Los Angeles FC have a six-point lead at the top of the Western Conference after 11 wins from their 17 games, whilst Sporting Kansas City sit bottom of the pack with just four victories. Despite losing on their last outing at the Colorado Rapids, Los Angeles FC have the best away form in MLS, averaging almost two goals per game on their travels, which has helped them to be the top goal scorers too. They should bounce back with victory at Sporting Kansas who themselves average more than two goals per game at home. Whatever the result, it should be a high-scoring match and complete a successful accumulator.
