Mikel Arteta admits he is ‘worried’ by Gabriel Jesus’ hamstring scare

Although Arsenal might have claimed a crucial 2-1 Champions League victory away at Sevilla on Tuesday night, Mikel Arteta has admitted that he is worried by Gabriel Jesus’ latest injury concern.
Arteta ‘worried’ by Jesus’ potential injury blow
While the Gunners might have moved themselves into pole position to punch their Champions League knockout stage ticket following Tuesday’s 2-1 win against Sevilla, Arteta was visibly concerned by a potential blow to his striking star.
Although Jesus might have eventually grabbed the winner in Spain and notched his third Champions League strike in as many appearances, Arsenal now face an anxious wait after watching the former Manchester City ace limp off in the final 10 minutes.
Suffering from a suspected muscle injury on Tuesday night, Arteta could not hide his sadness over what could be a real blow to their Premier League title hopes.
Speaking after Arsenal’s 2-1 victory in midweek, Arteta stated that Jesus had ‘felt something in his hamstring’ and that further attention will be needed.
“Really sad because he felt something in his hamstring. He had to come off and I’m worried about that.”

Jesus plays down his Champions League knock
While Arteta might been publicly concerned that the Brazilian marksman could be set for another lengthy spell on the sidelines, Jesus himself has been quick to play down any of the mounting speculation.
Now finding the net in each of his opening three Champions League appearances this season, Jesus has quickly become a standout performer for Arsenal on the European stage.
With the Gunners facing a quickfire turnaround ahead of a domestic showdown against Sheffield United this weekend, Jesus believes that Tuesday’s suspected hamstring blow is ‘not that big’.
“I felt something. Let’s see… I have a scan but I’m pretty sure it will be nothing”.
“I did some tests with the physio, it looks not that big, but let’s see”.

Although the Gunners might be looking to extend on their Premier League romp against Sheffield United on Saturday afternoon, Jesus is not expected to be risked at the Emirates.
