Netherlands squad give heroes welcome to Champions League winners Vigril Van Dijk and Gini Wijnaldum

The season is not quite over yet and Virgil Van Dijk and Gini Wijnaldum were both given a fantastic reception when they joined up with the Netherlands squad ahead of their Nations League semi-final with England this week.

Both Van Dijk and Wijnaldum played key parts in Liverpool’s Champions League success, Wijnaldum scored twice in the remarkable 4-0 win over Barcelona in the semi-final second leg, and VVD was a colossus in defence throughout the tournament.

The Dutch squad will be hoping both players are fit enough to start in their match against England on Thursday and the welcome they got when arriving at the team hotel was brilliant.

In a second video, Memphis Depay leads the squad in a chorus of the Gini Wijnaldum chant which has been a feature of his time at Anfield so far.

Both Van Dijk and Wijnaldum will be up against some familiar faces on Thursday including their captain at Liverpool, Jordan Henderson and Tottenham players such as Dele Alli, Danny Rose and Eric Dier, who all played in Saturday’s Champions League final.
