Luton vs Bristol City – Over 2.5 Goals

Luton’s home form has been largely underwhelming so far and Graeme Jones’ men inability to keep a clean sheet certainly hasn’t helped matters. The Hatters have a talented squad and they certainly aren’t shy about going forward. Only Hull have kept them off the scoresheet at Kenilworth Road this season and they should be able to find the net in this contest. Bristol City sit sixth, although they’ve only kept three clean sheets so far this campaign. Each of those shutouts have arrived at Ashton Gate and they’ve conceded exactly one goal in five of their six away trips. With BTTS having landed in every Bristol City away match so far, the 1-1 draw is an obvious danger here. However, both sides will not settle for the draw and I think that could lead to a high-scoring contest.

 

AFC Wimbledon vs Portsmouth – Over 2.5 Goals

AFC Wimbledon have suddenly found form and in Marcus Forss, they have one of the division’s standout strikers. The Brentford loanee was unplayable last weekend and he will look to continue that form on Saturday. The West Londoners are playing with more freedom going forward and they should be able to get on the score-sheet here. AFC Wimbledon have now scored seven times in their last two League One matches and there have been 22 goals in their last five fixtures along (not including EFL Trophy). Pompey arrive here off the back of a three game winless run and although they drew 0-0 with Gillingham, they created plenty of chances in that contest. Wimbledon’s defence is unlikely to be as solid and they could easily concede in this contest.

 

Rotherham vs Oxford United – Over 2.5 Goals

Another side who have been gradually improving over the last couple of weeks are Rotherham United. The Millers made a slow start to the campaign, although they seem to have found their feet in recent weeks. Michael Smith has looked excellent back at this level whilst summer signing Jake Hastie has also turned in some wonderful performances. The South Yorkshire side have now scored nine goals in their last three matches (including EFL Trophy) and they have looked dangerous going forward. At the weekend, they saw Blackpool hit the woodwork twice in an end-to-end affair and another entertaining 90 minutes is expected here. Visitors Oxford are playing some of their best football and come off the back of a comfortable success at the Kassam. They’ve netted 14 times in their last four games and have a few players back from International Duty. The visitors have kept a number of clean sheets in recent weeks, but they’re going to find it tricky to keep free-scoring Rotherham off the score-sheet here.

 

Grimsby vs Leyton Orient – Over 2.5 Goals

Grimsby’s form has just started to tail off in recent weeks and they’ll be pleased to welcome poor travellers Leyton Orient to Blundell Park. The hosts were defeated 2-1 at Stevenage last weekend although they did create some decent chances in that contest. They face a Leyton Orient side who are fresh from scoring three times against Walsall last weekend and should have a new manager in place by the time this fixture gets underway. That clouds the perspective slightly although the new man in charge isn’t going to have much time to change things before the squad travel to Lincolnshire. Orient did beat Northampton on the road, but they’ve conceded two goals at Colchester, Exeter, Mansfield and three to Exeter. This should be a decent game which producing many entertaining moments.
