The Merseyside derby is the big game of the night at Goodison Park but Chelsea and Manchester City are also in action against Aston Villa and Chelsea travel to Watford. Southampton vs Leicester
As soon as we see this fixture, the 9-0 Leicester win at St. Mary’s from a couple of years ago pops up in our minds. Both teams are very different right now, with Leicester failing to live up to expectations after a solid couple of seasons, and Southampton being dragged in a relegation battle with some poor results recently.
Southampton was thumped at Anfield at the weekend, while Leicester head in this game on the back of a 4-2 win against Watford. Southampton hasn’t won at home against Leicester since 2017, losing three and drawing one in the process, and we back the Foxes to continue their good record at this stadium

Watford vs Chelsea
Claudio Ranieri has a job on his hands to save Watford this season, as all their flaws were exposed against Leicester on the weekend. Fair play to them, they managed to stun United 4-1 just the previous week, but you need consistency to stay safe in the Premier League. Watford sits 4 points above the relegation places, so safety is not at all secured.
League-leaders Chelsea head into this game as strong favourites, and they will be disappointed not to have won against Manchester United on Sunday, having dominated most of the game. Top teams always respond to setbacks, so expect Chelsea to secure comfortable three points.

West Ham vs Brighton
West Ham has lost a bit of momentum, with two straight defeats following their win against Liverpool. They still sit 4th in the table, level on points with 5th placed Arsenal, so their situation is not bad at all. However, they need to find consistency fast if they are serious about competing for European places.
Brighton had a bright start to the season, but faded off, with their last win coming in September against Leicester. The team was booed off in Sunday’s draw against Leeds, and Graham Potter had a bit of go at the fans for it. The situation is not rosy in Brighton at the moment, so expect West Ham to get back to winning ways here.

Wolverhampton vs Burnley
Wolves put their disappointing start to the season behind them, and with a good run of results they now sit 6th in the table, three points behind 4th placed West Ham. Not a bad situation to be at all. They are on a run of three straight home wins, so they are favourites in this game.
Burnley had their game against Tottenham called off at the weekend due to heavy snow, so Sean Dyche’s men will have lost a bit of rhythm because of it. They haven’t won an away game this season, and the job won’t be easy on Wednesday. Wolves should have too much for Burnley.

Aston Villa vs Manchester City
Steven Gerrard’s life as an Aston Villa manager has started brilliantly, with two wins out of two games. This is a whole different game whatsoever, and it is probably the first real test of his Villa reign. The atmosphere is likely to be electric, so we are set to be treated with a classic.
Manchester City remains the favourites for the title, despite them trailing Chelsea at the moment. Pep Guardiola’s side simply looks unstoppable at times. Aston Villa hasn’t won at home against Manchester City since 2013, and even though we expect them to give City a real game, we back the Citizens to secure the three points in a high-scoring game.

Everton vs Liverpool
The last game of Wednesday’s program is the Merseyside derby, one of the fiercest games in the season. Everton is in horrible form at the moment, with their last game coming in late September against Norwich, so odds are against them for this game.
Liverpool is flying high at the moment, with two straight 4-0 wins in the Premier League, so Klopp’s team will be confident going into this game. However, this is a derby for a reason, it doesn’t matter which team is the favourite, there are always twists and a real battle. It will be a lively game, as it is always, but Liverpool should have too much for Everton.
