Premier League Relegation Odds 2024/25, Predictions and 5/1 Betting Tip

Premier League relegation tips 2024/25

Ahead of the new Premier League season, we’re going to take a look at the latest relegation odds where Leicester are 2/5 favourites, Ipswich 8/11 and Southampton 11/8 to go straight back to the Championship.

Leicester have a potential points deduction hanging over their heads for a previous breach of FFP so that is why they are so short in the relegation odds for the new season. Ipswich look to be making some interesting signings as they look to strengthen after their unexpected promotion last season with big money purchases such as Omari Hutchinson from Chelsea and Jacob Greaves from Huill set to slot straight into the team.

Southampton are arguably the best equipped to stay in the Premier League after their play-off win and have strengthened their defence with the addition of Taylor Harewood-Bellis for £20m and defensive midfielder Flynn Downes.

Last season was unusual in that all three of the promoted clubs went straight back down and this season we’re predicting at least one of these newly promoted teams to stay in the league. A lot will depend on the outcome of the Leicester points deduction whether they can survive in the league or not.

Away from the top three in the Premier League relegation odds for the new season, Everton are fourth in the list at odds of 13/8 but Sean Dyche has to take credit for the job he did last season. Despite two points deductions, he steered Everton to 40 points (48 without the deductions) and they look stronger this season after the signings of Iliman Ndiaye, Jesper Lindstrom, Tim Iroegbunam and Jake O’Brien ahead of more potential incomings after Amadou Onana left for £55m to Aston Villa.

Nottingham Forest walked the same tight-rope as Everton last season but they also had a points deduction and this campaign looks set to be another struggle for them. They finished on 32 points last season following a 4 point deduction and in all previous seasons that would have been enough for relegation. At odds of 2/1, Forest look like a fair enough bet to get relegated this season.

For our main Premier League relegation betting tip ahead of the new season we move slightly further down the odds to Brentford. They have a really poor campaign last season to finish on 39 points and Thomas Frank has a job on his hands to improve. Ivan Toney was a big miss last season and it remains to be seen if he will at the club at the end of the transfer window, if he leaves then Brentford’s odds of 5/1 to be relegated will look even more appealing. They have spent big money on Igor Thiago to help with their goalscoring but more new faces will be needed if they don’t want another season in the bottom echelons of the Premier League table.

We’re predicting a decent season for Wolves under Gary O’Neil and they form an integral part of our Premier League handicap tips for the new season. It is hard to see them in the relegation mix based on the majority of performances last season and it’s a surprise to see them shorter odds in the betting than the likes of Brentford.
