QPR vs Luton
Both of these two sides have been entertaining to watch so far this campaign. Mark Warburton’s side may be one of the youngest in the division, but they have a number of players who can produce moments of magic. Crucially, in Jordan Hugill and Nahki Wells, they also have two strikers who can find the back of the net. Prior to the International Break, they netted five times in two matches, and four of their six matches so far have featured three or more goals. Luton are also yet to keep a clean sheet, with the Hatters struggling to keep sides off the score-sheet so far. However, Graeme Jones’ side have started to find their feet at the other end of the field, and they’ve also netted five times in their last two encounters. Only Stoke City games have featured more goals than Luton matches so far this campaign, whilst QPR games are the fourth most entertaining in the league. This could be a classic.
Stoke vs Bristol City
As mentioned above, Stoke’s games have been thoroughly entertaining this season…but not necessarily for the right reasons. Nathan Jones’ side continue to leak goals, which is in sharp contrast to their form at the end of last season. They have made many individual errors, and it has proved costly. They’ve conceded the highest number of goals in the division, and somehow conspired to blow a 1-0 lead against Birmingham. Bristol City are also fairly entertaining, and despite a number of absentees, they’ve still managed to score on a regular basis. Their away games have featured an average of three goals per match so far, and they should play their part in this fixture. Four of the Robins’ six matches this season would have paid out Over 2.5 Goals backers, and it would also have landed in each of their last three.
Accrington vs Sunderland
Accy have been very enjoyable to watch this season, and despite the absence of Billy Kee, they look to have enough in the final third. Jordan Clark has been excellent whilst Joe Pritchard has impressed since arriving from Bolton. Whilst the front two of Dion Charles and Colby Bishop still look a little raw at times, they can score goals, and they will be expected to find the net in this one. The hosts lost 2-3 in their first home game of the season, before beating MK Dons (as well as missing a penalty and hitting the woodwork). Sunderland will prove tough opposition on Saturday with the Black Cats looking to get back on track after losing 3-0 against Posh. Jack Ross’ men rarely draw a blank, and with an average of 2.67 goals per match on the road, they should be able to find the net. For all their attacking talent, Accrington look shaky at the back, and Sunderland will be looking to capitalise.
Chesterfield vs Torquay
John Sheridan has been given the full backing of his board despite enduring a miserable start to the season at the Proact. The Spirites have been conceding far too many goals, and have been regularly overrun in midfield. Their games this season have contained an average of 3.2 goals, which makes them ideal for this accumulator. They are facing the side who have seen the highest number of goals so far this season – Torquay. The Gulls’ away games have contained an average of 3.60 goals with action at both ends of the pitch. Over 2.5 Goals has landed in four of Torquay’s five away games, and they have kept just a solitary clean sheet this season (at home vs Aldershot). Chesterfield are yet to record a clean sheet, and conceded three to Halifax in their previous home match.
