Scottish Championship Golf Betting Tips

The show goes on for the European Tour as we head back to Scotland after a great week at Wentworth last week. It is a weaker field obviously this week but it still provides us with a great betting opportunity and hopefully, we can have another successful week.

 

Scottish Championship Tips

My first selection is MATT WALLACE 11/1 WIN. Wallace is one of the more established names playing this week and he deserves to be one of the market leaders here. Wallace played well in Scotland two weeks ago where he finished 30^th in a stronger field than this one despite having the worst of the weather draw wise there. He then followed that with a 24^th place last week at Wentworth. Wallace seems very close to his best and this prolific winner is a strong selection in this weaker field this week.

 

My next selection is MATTHEW JORDAN 25/1 E/W. Matthew Jordan is well rested since a strong showing in Portugal a few weeks ago and he will be relishing the return to Links golf here. He has a fantastic links pedigree and a lot of his best results including his victories have come on links golf courses. He isn’t scared of winning as he’s proved on many of the ‘below’ tours and I think he’s ready to step up and win at this level. He’ll find this test a realistic chance to capture his maiden European tour title and will not be phased by the cold and wintery weather the players are likely to experience this week.

 

My next selection is MATTHEW SOUTHGATE 33/1 E/W. Southgate struck the ball very well last week at Wentworth and his putter really let him down However, he finished strongly there with a closing round of -4 and he’ll arrive at Scotland excited to kick on again. Southgate is another player who loves links golf and will be ready to battle the cold elements being an Englishmen. He was unlucky not to win in Scotland last year under similar conditions to this week when finishing second in the Alfred Dunhill Links over the road from this week’s venue. The best e/w bet of the week.

 

My next selection is JACK SENIOR 66/1 E/W Senior played some strong consistent golf during the UK swing with top 30 finishes in his last 3 events. He is well-rested after having a couple of weeks ago and he now returns to Scotland where he picked up his first win on the challenge tour. Another Englishman who will relish the conditions on a course that suits his game.

 

My final selection is ADRIAN MERONK 80/1 E/W. This big hitting machine has really caught the eye of late and his last start resulted in a top 10 finish in the Irish Open. That will have given him a lot of confidence and he could well overpower this golf course with his long and straight driving. This represents a drop-in class and it provides a great opportunity for Meronk to challenge for his maiden victory on the European Tour. I expected him to be a shorter price than what’s available this week.
