Tottenham Predicted Line-up vs Ajax in the Champions League

Tottenham face Ajax in this week’s first Champions League semi-final first leg and they are missing three players who would have certainly started the match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, so what will the starting line-up be on Tuesday night?

Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane are defintely missing for Tottenham because of suspension and injury respectively and Moussa Sissoko is a major doubt, despite training on Monday with the rest of the Tottenham Hotspur squad. They are also without Harry Winks, Serge Aurier and Erik Lamela for the visit of Ajax.

Tottenham saw off Manchester City in one of the great Champions League matches in recent years in the quarter finals but a big price was paid when Son picked up a booking, ruling him out of the semi-final first leg this week.

 

How will Tottenham Line-up vs Ajax?

Hugo Lloris will take his place in goal as usual and there is some debate whether Spurs will line-up with a back three or back four.

Jan Vertonghen missed the match with West Ham at the weekend due to fatigue but he will be back for this game and could line-up alongside Toby Alderweireld and Davison Sanchez in a back three. This would allow Danny Rose and Kieren Trippier to get forward from wing-back positions.

In midfield, it is unlikely that Moussa Sissoko will be fit to start so the prediction is a midfield three of Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen and Victor Wanyama playing the deeper role.

Then up front Fernando Llorente will be partnered by Lucas Moura, who scored a recent hat-trick on this ground against Huddersfield.

If Spurs line-up in a 4-2-3-1 formation then Eric Dier will go into the midfield in place of one of the central defenders, Christian Eriksen will play from the right and Lucas Moura from the left.
