Wolves to beat Bournemouth

Bournemouth’s 9-0 loss at Liverpool may not have come as a surprise to some. Bournemouth’s sacking of Scott Parker? Now that’s surely a different question.

The Cherries got rid of their man after just four games of the Premier League season on Tuesday morning, despite having faced who many consider to be the best three teams in the division in Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool.

Having replaced him with Gary O’Neil, there is now a huge amount of inexperience at the Vitality Stadium for Bruno Lage’s gang marching their way down to the south coast smelling blood. An away win is definitely in order.

 

Arsenal to beat Aston Villa

Steven Gerrard has had a really poor start to the season after a relatively average spell at Aston Villa last campaign.

The Midlands outfit have won just one of their first four games, which have all come against opponents who are nowhere near the top six battle this season, and take a trip to table toppers Arsenal who will look to be the only side to win their first five games so far this season.

Mikel Arteta’s men should have enough firepower to beat his former Merseyside rival, you’d think.

 

Stoke City to beat Swansea City

As with Parker at Bournemouth, sacking a manager can lead to problems in the background and it could take a long while to clean up the mess left.

That may not be the case at Stoke City, where a new boss has already been appointed in Alex Neil after the Scotsman shocked quite a few when leaving Sunderland for the bet365 Stadium over the last week.

With a new manager bounce, and coming up against a Swansea side who have won just once all season in all competitions, that may well continue in Staffordshire to put Russell Martin further under the cosh.

 

Juventus to beat Spezia

Juventus enjoyed a horror season last year in Serie A to make it two years since they won the Scudetto, and a poor start this time out could make it a hat-trick of years since they took the title.

A promising 3-0 win over Sassuolo on the final day was marked with a dour 0-0 draw at Sampdoria and a 1-1 draw to Jose Mourinho’s Roma – with fans left frustrated at manager Massimiliano Allegri.

The Old Lady, however, take on Spezia who have come 15th and 16th respectively in recent seasons. Wednesday’s tie really does give them a route back into dining at the top table once more…
