Villarreal vs Real Madrid – Juan Foyth to be carded (24/5)
Despite Argentinian fullback Juan Foyth being injured for a large period of time during last season, he has come back into the Villarreal side to start 7 of their last 8 games, being booked twice. With Kiko Femenia injured, Foyth is almost certain to start at right-back against a Real Madrid side that currently sit in second place in La Liga, 13 points above home side Villarreal.
Since joining Villarreal in 2020, Juan Foyth has played 4 games in La Liga against Real Madrid, being booked on 2 occasions, making 20 tackles and committing 16 fouls in those 4 meetings. The ex-Spurs player will most likely directly face both Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham, the away sides two most fouled players in the league this season. With Jesus Gil Manzano officiating, having given out 88 yellow cards and 6 red cards in 13 La Liga games this season, it should only take 1 bad foul from Foyth to be put in the book, in a game in which his side would fancy a result against a tired Real Madrid side that were taken to penalties against their local rivals midweek.
Bologna vs Lazio – Nicolo Rovella to be carded (41/20)
Against Bologna this season, opposing central midfielders have been frequently booked due to highly fouled wingers Dan Ndoye, Benjamin Dominguez, and Ricardo Orsolini consistently drifting inside. In the home sides last 15 games, an opposition central midfielder has been in 8, including in 5 out of 8 home games during this period.
Lazio central midfielder Nicolo Rovella tops his sides tally both for most tackles made and most fouls committed, making 35 tackles and committing 32 fouls in 23 league appearances. The Italian should come straight back into the side having missed Lazio’s midweek meeting with Plzen in the Europa League due to his red card in the first leg, and he could receive his 11th yellow card this season in his 24th league start for the away side.
Liverpool vs Newcastle – Joelinton to be carded (19/10)
Newcastle midfielder Joelinton has received 9 yellow cards in 24 league starts this season, making 50 tackles and 50 fouls, lucky not to be booked against West Ham on Monday having committed 5 fouls. The Brazilian has been booked in 3 of his last 7 games against Liverpool and will look to potentially be a big part of Newcastle’s first major cup win for a long time. Regardless of the opponent, the midfielder will get stuck in, and will be up against it with Alexis MacAllister and Ryan Gravenberch, Liverpool’s two most fouled players in the league this season, directly opposing him.
Referee John Brooks has given 71 yellow cards in 13 Premier League games this season, as well as 17 in 3 League Cup games. Based on this average, Brooks is an official that could book Joelinton for accumulation even if he does not commit a cynical foul.

Booking Points vs Cards Betting
People often confuse booking points in football with cards betting, so we will explain the difference.
Cards betting means you are either betting on the total number of cards in a match, or betting on a specific player to be carded in that match. With the invention of bet builders, you can also bet on 2 or more players to be carded in matches as one bet. This is where the likes of Betting Village and The Card Tipster have become very popular on Twitter, because they pick a number of players to be carded as part of their predictions and combine them into an accumulator.
Booking points mean you are betting on a specific amount of points, with red cards being worth more than yellow cards. This way of betting on cards means if you are betting on over a certain amount of booking points, a red card really helps your bet, whereas if you are betting on a player to be carded, it doesn’t matter if they get a yellow or a red.
How Many Booking Points is a Yellow and Red Card Worth?
- A yellow card is usually worth 10 points when betting on booking points.
- A red card is worth 25 points when betting on booking points.
- Two yellow cards (meaning a red) is also calculated as 25 points.
What is a Bookings Tip?
When betting on a bookings bet, we are predicting which players we think will be booked in a certain match. This could be a single bet or you could combine more than one player to get a card to make up a bet builder.
For example, Liverpool are playing Manchester United in this weekend’s fixtures and we want to place a bet on three players all to pick up a yellow card in the match. The bookings tip would be as follows:
- Virgil Van Dijk to be carded – 3/1
- Bruno Fernandes to be carded – 5/2
- Harry Maguire to be carded – 4/1
ODDS – 70/1 with bet365.
If all three players get a card in the match then the bet is a winner and our cards accumulator tip for today would be a winning bet at odds of 70/1.
How to Bet on Cards Tips
We provide the tips and then it is up to you how you want to bet on them. Cards bets are a very good way to have a small stake bet with potentially big returns and this keeps a match interesting right up until the final whistle.
We would always look to have a few quid on the accumulator just incase we land all of the selections correct for the day’s booking tip. You could also bet on the selections as singles and doubles. The doubles would mean if two of the players selected are booked, your bet would be a winner.
This is an example of how a cards bet would look at bet365 when you place the bet. The odds for this are 25/1 for all three selections to be booked in the match.
Are Cards Tips and Bookings Tips the same?
They are very similar in that you are betting on a player to be carded in the match, which is also a booking.
However, you could also bet on a player to be sent off in a match so this is still classed as a card tip, but not a booking tip because a booking is a yellow card only.
Some bookmakers have different names for the market so it is always best to check the terms and conditions – for example at Paddy Power, you would be betting on a player to be carded. Therefore it doesn’t matter if your selection(s) get a red or yellow card, as long as they get a card.
On bet365, you can bet on a player to be booked, or a player to be sent off.
What Leagues do you have Bookings Tips from?
We will focus on the big Premier League matches for a lot of our bookings betting tips but there will also be predictions from the Champions League, Europa League and Championship. If you were looking for bet builder tips which include bookings, then they will also be available on all the big TV matches this season.
Each Saturday and Tuesday, we will also have a cards accumulator tip that will cover a few matches from today’s fixtures, picking a player to be booked in each of those games. This is similar to a team to win acca but instead of picking one of the teams to win the match, we are picking players to pick up a card in the match instead.
Do you do Bookings Accumulator Tips?
Yes, You will be able to see our betting tips for players to be carded at the top of this page and you can bet on all the picks to be correct by placing a cards accumulator bet. The odds for a player to be booked in a match can be as big as 10/1 so you’re likely to get some generous odds for a bookings accumulator, especially if picking some of the players who aren’t normally in the thick of the action to get a card today.
