West Brom dropped points in midweek and handed the advantage to Leeds. The Baggies have a West Midlands derby to look forward to this weekend and can be backed at 10/11 with Unibet to collect three points. Birmingham have been chalked up as outsiders despite being the home side and are currently available at 16/5. The Blues slipped up against QPR on Wednesday night. Goals have followed West Brom around this season, although they’ve generally been leakier at home. It’s around 4/5 for both teams to find the net in this clash. It’s around 10/11 for Over 2.5 Goals. Charlie Austin is finally scoring again and the striker is the favourite to net at any point in this clash. He is 9/5 favourite with Paddy Power to make it two goals in two games and is narrowly ahead of Kenneth Zohore and Hal Robson Kanu. The Welshman is around 2/1 to find the back of the net on Saturday lunchtime.

Slaven Bilic made four chances in midweek with the Croatian manager aiming to keep his squad fresh for this weekend’s game. His plan didn’t quite backfire, but the Baggies did fail to pick up three points against a struggling Wigan side. Sam Johnstone’s own goal gave the Latics the lead, but Charlie Austin was on hand to restore parity. It was far from a vintage performance from the visitors, who were outshot 14-6 by the hosts and they simply must improve here. Their away performances have been very impressive and they have conceded the fewest away goals (5) so far. Mid-table Birmingham have struggled against top sides at St.Andrews so far this campaign, scoring just a single goal when hosting Bristol City, Fulham and Preston at this ground. They’ve only beaten sides below them in the table and they could be in for a tough 90 minutes here. Pep Clotet’s side lost 2-0 to QPR on Wednesday night and they have now kept just two clean sheets this season at home, one of which came against bottom club Barnsley. The Baggies weren’t particularly eye-catching in midweek against a stubborn Wigan side, but they should fair better against Birmingham. It ended 1-1 here last season, but WBA could edge this and it might be a case of them just sneaking through. As well as backing West Brom to win at an odds-on price, it may also be worth backing Bilic’s men to be victorious by a 1 goal margin.
