Preston vs Derby County Predictions and Betting Tips: Championship Preview
Preston vs Derby County predictions and betting tips for this Friday night Championship fixture on February 1st with an anytime goalscorer tip and goals prediction included.
The Lilywhites have suddenly hit form and although they remain in the bottom half of the table, it will surely only be a matter of time before they begin to trouble the top ten. Alex Neil’s men have seen a number of key players return from injury and they’ve also been bolstered by some stellar January signings. They’ve beaten QPR and Stoke in recent weeks and they will be confident of seeing the challenge of Derby. The Rams weren’t at their best against Reading last weekend but they got the job done and Frank Lampard can be pleased with his side’s progress. Their away is form is still a little inconsistent however and this won’t be easy for them under the floodlights. See our Preston vs Derby County predictions below.

Preston vs Derby County Preview
Despite their shaky form at the beginning of the campaign, Preston should be perfectly safe this season and they are likely to continue to climb the table. Even during their tumultuous patch for form, Alex Neil’s men were always difficult to beat at home and Deepdale is a tough place to visit for any side. They’ve lost just three times here all season and by just a single on each occasion. In-form Hull were the last side to win here and it’s difficult to see Derby adding their name to that rather exclusive list.
The hosts have now scored six times in their last two matches and they’re unbeaten in three coming into this fixture. Ben Pearson controlled the game against Stoke and with Alan Brown and Sean Maguire back in the side, they have plenty of options at their disposal. New signings Brad Potts and Jayden Stockley have settled in nicely and I think that Preston can continue their winning run here. Derby’s away form is far from consistent and they’ve lost three of the last five games on the road. They have faced some tough assignments on their travels recently but this won’t be straightforward either. Mason Mount’s hamstring was tight against Accrington and he was taken off as a precaution. They may be without the Chelsea loanee for this game in Lancashire. Preston can be difficult to stop when they’re on a run of form and I’m backing them to continue their winning sequence on Friday night. The hosts are the first of our Preston vs Derby betting tips for tonight.
Preston vs Derby County Predictions
Both of these sides are very entertaining to watch and they play some decent football. This should be an enjoyable Friday night of football at Deepdale. 19 of Derby’s 28 games this season have seen both sides find the back of the net including seven of the last nine on their travels. Preston kept a clean sheet at the Bet365 Stadium but that was their first shutout since December 8th. 12 of their 14 home matches have ended with BTTS and this is likely to go the same way. The hosts have netted in every single home matches this season and October 6th was the last time that they kept a home clean sheet. Both Teams to Score? Yes is the second of our Preston vs Derby predictions in the Championship.
It’s hard to ignore the form of new signing Brad Potts, who has got off to a fantastic start back in Lancashire. The former Blackpool and Barnsley man has a knack of popping up in the right place at the right time and he is likely to add to his tally in the near future. The 24-year old is nearly into double figures for the season (for his two clubs combined) and he will be keen to make it a perfect three from three. Brad Potts looks decent value in this market and he is the third of our Preston vs Derby predictions today.
Preston vs Derby County Betting Odds
Preston start as the favourites for this game and they can be backed at 6/5 to make it three wins on the bounce. Derby are available at 11/5 whilst the match is 12/5 to end all-square.
The second of our Preston vs Derby County tips is Both Teams to Score? Yes and that’s available at 8/11. It’s Evens for Both Teams to Score? No.
Jack Marriott has enjoyed a tremendous season so far and he’s 11/2 to net the first goal of the game here. Jayden Stockley, who netted a lovely curling effort against QPR is also 11/2 to break the deadlock in this one.
