One of these nations will be taking part in the European Championship finals for the first time in their history and the stakes could not be higher. Each side are undefeated in their last five games with an identical record of two wins and three draws.

Georgia have conceded just four goals in that period whilst North Macedonia have conceded an acceptable seven. These two nations have faced off twice in those aforementioned games, drawing 1-1 on both occasions.

There’s clearly very little to separate these two sides and a hat-trick of 1-1 scorelines could be on the cards. The odds favour a low-scoring game and this one could easily go the distance.

 

Hungary vs Iceland

Hungary come into this crucial play-off as slight favourites. They’ve recently put together wins Turkey, Bulgaria, and Serbia, conceding just once in those games.

Meanwhile, Iceland have faired considerably worse in recent games (albeit competing in division A of the nations league). Four losses in the last five isn’t surprising when you consider their opponents but the 3-0 home loss to Denmark stands out as particularly poor.

Talented young prospect Dominik Szoboszlai has recently been linked with a move to Arsenal and could be the difference between these two sides. Iceland are a side so reliant on their support and this qualifier may prove a step too far.

 

Northern Ireland vs Slovakia

Northern Ireland did as well as could be expected to finish third in a group behind Germany and the Netherlands. Since then, they have been involved in four tight games and a 5-1 dismantling at the hands of Norway. Just four goals have been scored in the other four fixtures.

Slovakia have also been involved in a series of low-scoring games in recent internationals. Three of their last four games have featured under 2.5 goals, with the 0-0 draw against the Republic of Ireland and a 1-0 defeat to Scotland standing out.

Given the comparable quality between those home nations and Northern Ireland, and NI’s willingness to dig deep and keep things tight, under 1.5 goals represents strong value.

 

Serbia vs Scotland

Serbia to Win and Under 2.5 Goals – 21/10 with Paddy Power

Scotland are undefeated in their last five internationals, picking up three wins and two draws. Just seven goals have been scored across those five fixtures with four of them featuring under 2.5 goals and a further 3 seeing under 1.5.

Their opponents, Serbia, have featured in two games with under 1.5 goals in the last five. Serbia are favourites to win and have a stronger starting XI on paper. Their recent form isn’t spectacular but a win over well-fancied Norway to reach this stage is worth taking into account.
