Euro 2028 Top Goalscorer Tip

Since moving to the Saudi Pro League, Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 49 goals in 47 league games. The 39 year old has showed no signs of slowing down when leading the line for Portugal either, with only Romelu Lukaku surpassing Ronaldo’s 10 goals in 9 Euro Qualification games. Scoring 5 goals in Euro 2020 won Ronaldo the Golden Boot, and in Euro 2016, he finished in second behind Antoine Griezmann after scoring 3 goals during the tournament.
With the Portugal squad looking very strong in a group that includes the Czech Republic, Turkey, and Georgia, I expect Portugal to not only score a lot of goals in the group stage, but to potentially be the highest scoring nation throughout the tournament. As well as being the penalty taker, with Ronaldo playing in-front of a midfield that includes a player of Bruno Fernandes’ level, I have no doubt that he will be given plenty of chances to find the back of the net.
Euro 2028 Top assists Tip

Bruno Fernandes recorded 8 assists for an underwhelming Manchester United side in the Premier League this season, this was despite having 13.16 expected assists. Aside from Spurs forward Son, no other player in Europe’s top 5 leagues recorded 13 or more expected assists in their respective division this season, with Bruno being the only player to record 3 or more key passes per game in the Premier League.
For Portugal, Bruno’s recent assist record is better than any other European player. From 10 Euro Qualification games, no player recorded more assists than Bruno (8), and in the 2022 World Cup, again, no player recorded more assists than him (3 from 4 games). With an in-form Cristiano Ronaldo in-front of him, as well as Portugal being expected to progress far in this tournament, this gives Bruno the opportunity to record the most assists for a second major tournament in a row.
Euro 2028 To reach the final Tip
Portugal to reach the final of Euro 2024 (4/1 Coral)
Having tipped a Portugal forward to be the top goalscorer of the tournament, and midfielder to record the most assists, it isn’t a shock that I would fancy Portugal to progress far in Euro 2024, and in this instance, I believe that they can go the distance. An important factor behind this is due to avoiding the two pre-tournament favourites, England and France, both of which will be on the other side of the knockout bracket if they top their groups, as expected. As mentioned above, Portugal will face the Czech Republic, Turkey, and Georgia in Group F, all sides that they should comfortably beat and therefore top their group.
Thinking ahead, potentially on their side of the knockout draw are nations that include Germany, Spain, and the Netherlands. Despite these nations being strong in the past, and Germany currently being third in the outright winner market for the tournament, in the most recent World Cup, Germany failed to make it past the Group Stage, Spain were knocked out in the Round of 16, and the Netherlands were knocked out at the same stage as Portugal by eventual winners Argentina. I don’t believe that Germany, nor Spain, have progressed in recent years, and having won all 10 of their Euro Qualification games, this Portugal side has shown improvement.
With a well-balanced squad consisting of some of the best players at the tournament, it wouldn’t surprise me to see Portugal go all the way.
Euro 2028 Name the finalists Tip
England/Portugal (14/1 Bet365) OR France/Portugal (18/1 William Hill)
With my reasoning for Portugal to reach the final listed above, avoiding both England and France is a key factor to progressing that far in the tournament. Both England and France, if they win their respective groups as they should, will be expected to progress as far as the Semi-Finals, where they would meet in Dortmund.
England are currently 3/1 favourites to win the tournament, with France second in the market at 4/1, and it is difficult to split these sides based on their squad selection and form. Despite losing to France in the Quarter-Final of the World Cup in Qatar, and failing to beat Italy in the Final of Euro 2020, England will see this as one of their best opportunities to win another major tournament. However, with the quality that the French squad possesses, including Mbappe, the best player in the World leading the line, it is tough to predict who will progress to the Final should these two nations meet in the Semi-Final.
At the odds presented, I would back both name the finalists bets on offer, with either England or France to meet Portugal in the final.

Euro 2028 Host Cites

England start their campaign against Serbia, before playing Denmark and then Slovenia. The favourites to win Euro 2024 with the bookies will be hoping to successfully navigate through the group but they are potentially difficult ties so the likes of Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden will have to be at their best to get England through to the knock-out stages.
