Horse Racing Tips: FIVE Best Bets for Fridays Meetings at Fontwell and Hexham

There is some great racing over the jumps on Friday 5 November from Fontwell and Hexham with all the action live on Sky.  

We’ve cast our eye over each race from these two meetings and highlighted our five best bets of the day below.

Fontwell – 1:50  

This Class 3 Handicap Hurdle will see Jamie Moore take the ride on the top weighted Manucci over 2m3f. Out of the Gary Moore yard, the selection has had flat rides over the summer so will be fit for that. He has also had two good runs previously at this track and looks a big danger back on good ground over hurdles where his mark has dropped to 120.

Hexham – 2:10  

Crack Du Ninian is a dual winner over hurdles and won off a 10lb higher mark at Sedgefield on his chasing debut in early October. He goes over 1m7f today but looked like he still had plenty in the tank when going over the fences and will be the one they all have to beat. Sean Quinlan takes the ride again for the Jennie Candlish yard.

Selection: Crack Du Ninian (11/4 with William Hill)

 

Fontwell – 2:20  

Just six are expected to go to post for this Class 4 Handicap Chase in what looks a competitive contest over 2m2f. A chance is taken on the Dr Richard Newland trained On The Wild Side, with Sam Twiston-Davies in the saddle. He returned from an eleven-month absence to run at Hexham in early October and was going well before unseating his rider on the final circuit. He goes off the same mark again and should be up there challenging back on a sounder surface.

Hexham – 2:40 

Recent C&D winner, Geonice, should be worth sticking with despite a 5lb rise following a win here at the beginning of October. The John Quinn trained 5-year-old won that on his reappearance after three months off the track, so should strip fitter for the run. He also keeps Brian Hughes on board and this winning partnership can do the business again over the same distance.

Fontwell – 2:50

The Gary Moore trained Imphal stepped up to 3m for the first time at Ludlow three weeks ago and duly got off the mark, winning by one-length. He was staying on that day, so another step up to 3m2f should really suit him, especially as he has only been raised a pound for that success. Jamie Moore is back in the saddle again and the selection definitely looks the one to beat.
