Bangor-On-Dee – 12:30

The opening race of the day at Bangor will see eleven go to post in this Class 4 Handicap Chase over 2m4½f. In what should be a competitive first race on the forecast good to soft ground, the each-way selection is Yggdrasil who has the right profile to make him a better chaser than hurdler. The step up in trip will also suit having competed at shorter distances previously. He returned from a seven month break to finish second at Newton Abbot in a Novices Hurdle last month and should run fitter for that. David Noonan takes the ride for the Nick Williams yard.

Selection: Yggdrasil (9/2 with William Hill)

Bangor-On-Dee – 1:30

A quality field goes to post for this Class 2 Handicap Chase over 3m with many returning from long absences. One such runner is our each-way selection, Blacklion, who was last seen in action in the Grand National, where he finished a respectable sixth. Although he is the older statesman of the race at 12yo, he has dropped 10lb since that effort at Aintree in April and will have been very well looked after at the Dan Skelton yard over the summer. Harry Skelton takes the ride in what should be a cracking contest.

Selection: Blacklion (7/1 with William Hill)

Exeter – 2:10

Our first each-way selection from Exeter comes in this Class 3 Handicap Hurdle over 2m½f, where a chance is taken on the Jeremy Scott trained, The Russian Doyen. A previous course and distance winner, he was going well at Newbury in March before unseating in a Class 1 Handicap Chase. He reverts to hurdles today and can put himself in the mix under the ride of Rex Dingle now going off 10lb lighter than his last hurdle race in December.

Selection: The Russian Doyen (6/1 with William Hill)

Exeter – 3:10

The consistent Creative Inerta gets the vote at a big each-way price in this Class 4 Handicap Chase over 3m. He has produced two third place finishes since returning from a summer break and now steps up to 3m with fitness under the belt. He has also slipped to a dangerous mark of 109 and has Lorcan Murtagh in the saddle who takes off another 3lb. Trainer, Ben Clarke is also in good form, and they might have found a good opportunity for the selection to challenge in this one.

Selection: Creative Inerta (11/1 with William Hill)
