13:15 – Temple Bruer – Each Way

Winner of this race last year but now 8lbs higher. Has won over C&D 3 times and has put up good performances on all surfaces. Run with credit the last twice in class 2 handicaps including a 4th in the Great St Wilfred, so this represents a fair drop in class. Had the favourite Rathbone behind when winning here in June and the weight swing shouldn’t make up the 2 length deficit.

13:50 – Chic Colombine – Win

A ready winner last time by nearly 4 lengths,  carries a penalty so likely to be well in on his future mark. Bellarchi has already racked up his hat trick and arrives seeking a 4 timer and is the biggest danger to Chic. He found it hard to get his head infront at first but has his the sweet spot, also well in on his future mark I can’t see many others getting involved based on current form.

14:25 – Dragon Leader – Win

Rated the same as Johannes Brames, he gets 10lb due to the weight terms of this sales race. The way in which he dispatched of his rivals at York would suggest he’s nearing a Group level performer, Moore obviously jumps off due to his O’Brien connection but I bet he wish he didn’t have to. I don’t expect the winning margin to be as big as last time but I’d give him the best chance of winning.

15:00 – Darnation – Win

It’s hard to get away from the favourite here, with a Group 3 win LTO against a few of the same opponents, I can’t see any of the new challengers stepping up enough to take this Group 2 away from her. She won going away that day so I see no problem with this extra furlong, let alone the testing conditions she faced which would have tested the stamina of them all.

15:35 – Golden Lyra – Each Way

Clearly suited by softer ground she will be hoping that enough rain falls. She’s probably not been as good as the stable would have liked this season, but she was staying on well LTO and this first try at 1m6f could be the key to her progress. I don’t think there are any standout winners in this race and it should be a good competitive Group 2.

16:10 – Kingfisher King – Win

He ran well on debut but took a step forward when winning his novice beating an improving type with the pair pulling clear. Then ran a 98 rated filly to within a neck when giving her 5lbs. I suppose he earnt his 100 rating on that result however it does seem a little harsh. Not as harsh as If Not Now who has been lumped with 15lbs for his demolition at Sandown, although impressive it was a three horse race. Sisyphus Strength can often throw in a very poor race so wouldn’t be for me here.

16:45 – Vaguely Royal – Each Way

A winner over C&D back in June, he looked to be stretched by the Melrose LTO and didn’t run badly to a point. I’m not overly excited by any other horses in this race it seems a poor race as a whole and it wouldn’t surprise me were a big price to pop up and surprise us all, but I’d have no clue who that might be.

17:20 – Mafnood – Win

Could well be let off lightly with this mark seen as the horse he beat LTO has won well since beating an 88 rated opponent. There’s bits and pieces of other solid form in behind too, he travelled well into the race and should have no problem with this drop back to 7f. The danger would have to be hat trick seeking Nellie Leylax.
