Cheltenham – 2:30
This 2m Class 2 Novice’s Chase looks like it could be a race between Third Time Lucki, and Fidelio Vallis; but we’re backing the Paul Nicholls trained 6yo to land the spoils. He returned from a six-month break to finish second at Chepstow earlier this month, only beaten by the impressive Tea Clipper. The selection can come on for that race and will be hard to beat.
Selection: Fidelio Vallis (9/4 with William Hill)
Cheltenham – 3:40
Faivoir returned to action to win a Class 3 Novices Chase at Uttoxeter earlier this month, beating his market rival for this race, Annual Invictus. Both runners go off the same mark again here, and although they are competing over 4f further in this one, Faivoir has the better form over the 2m4f trip. The Skelton team will be confident of guiding the selection to a fourth win in a row.
Selection: Faivoir (9/4 with William Hill)
Doncaster – 3:50
Titian ran a huge race after an 11-month absence to finish second in a Class 2 Handicap at Beverley in August. He drops to Class 3 for this one but stays at 1m2f and will surely only improve for that earlier run. Ryan Moore takes the ride for the in-form William Haggas yard. The main danger is likely to come from Eikonix who has champion jockey, Oisin Murphy in the saddle. But the selection should be too good.
Selection: Titian (2/1 with William Hill)
Newbury – 4:30
In a big field race of 18, Molls Memory looks to have a great chance under the ride of Tom Marquand. The expected heavy ground will impact the result, but the selection has form on heavy, winning at Haydock in May when last running on the most testing of surfaces. She was also not disgraced in a Class 1 Listed race at Ascot earlier this month over 7f, so the drop back to Class 3 Handicap company will be in her favour too. Old Flame goes for a hat-trick, and could be the main danger.
Selection: Molls Memory (9/2 with William Hill)
Cheltenham – 4:50
A chance is taken on the big priced Bermeo to run a good race to land an each-way place at least. He goes over 3m1f after a 191-day absence in the Class 3 Amateur Jockeys’ Handicap Chase. Bermeo ended last season with two third places at Newbury, and here at Cheltenham in his last run. He also finished second at this track in November and is one of the few C&D runners competing. Miss A B O’Connor takes the ride for the Tim Vaughan yard.
Selection: Bermeo (11/1 with William Hill)
