Wetherby – 1:30
Micky Hammond sends Not What It Seems out in this Class 4 Novices Handicap Hurdle, two weeks after his return. The selection produced a decent effort at this track after six months off, 16 days ago, and should come on for that run. He was only beaten by 1-length that day and stays on the same mark for this race.
Selection: Not What It Seems (5/2 with William Hill)
Uttoxeter – 1:38
The selection returned from six months off to finish second at this track over this 2m distance at the start of October, beaten by just over 1-length by Orchard Grove, who has since gone on to win again. In his second run of the new season, he won at Newton Abbot over 2m1f on heavy ground. For this Class 5 Handicap Hurdle, Ten Past Midnight returns to 2m and goes off the same mark as when winning at Newton Abbot, so looks to be a big danger.
Selection: Ten Past Midnight (7/4 with William Hill)
Newmarket – 2:30
Benefit won on debut over 6f at Wolverhampton in a Class 5 Maiden Fillies contest in September and followed up that success with another win at Class 3 level at Leicester over the same distance. That shows she can handle different ground and she goes up in class again for this Class 1 Listed Fillies Stakes race and could keep improving. Both wins have been comfortable, but trainer, Clive Cox, turns to Ryan Moore for the ride, which must be a plus.
Selection: Benefit (9/2 with William Hill)
Wetherby – 2:40
Restandbethankful had been in excellent form over 2m, picking up wins at Perth, Market Rasen, and Stratford-Upon-Avon over the last couple of years. However, he was stepped up to Class 2 level at Chepstow earlier this month and looked a bit out of his depth on his return from five months off. He will have come on for that run and drops back to Class 3 level for this Class 3 Handicap Hurdle, so should be a real danger.
Selection: Restandbethankful (10/3 with William Hill)
Newmarket – 4:15
The selection goes for a hat-trick having won over 1m2f at Nottingham and Doncaster earlier this month. These successes both came on soft ground, and although he goes up 6lb for his previous win, he was running away from the others so the step up to 1m4f looks sensible. Jane Elliott takes the ride for the Tom Dascombe yard.
Selection: The Nu Form Way (3/1 with William Hill)
