Horse Racing Tips: Nap Selections for Tuesday’s Meetings
There’s no shortage of runners at all four meetings on Tuesday but, as ever, we’ve done our level best to separate the wheat from the chaff and uncover some value-for-money selections.
We’re particularly keen on a 4/1 chance at the ‘twilight’ meeting at Newcastle.

Wade’s Magic has been at the top of his game in recent months and put up a career-best performance when just touched off by a better-fancied stable companion in a stronger race than this at Nottingham last month. A 2lb rise in the weights make life a little more difficult and he faces slower underfoot conditions, but he has winning form on ‘soft’ and ‘heavy’; he looks a decent bet to resume winning ways in this lesser contest.
Selection: Wade’s Magic (4/1 with William Hill)
Chepstow: 2:30 Cazoo Novices’ Handicap Chase 3m2f
Former winning pointer Starsky was beaten by the narrowest margin on his debut over regulation fences at Worcester earlier this month and, while that form has been let down by the winner and the third, he takes a slight drop in class. Stepping back up in distance should do him no harm, if his hurdles win at Warwick in May is anything to go by, and he may be capable of conceding weight all ’round.
Selection: Starsky (11/4 with William Hill)
Bangor-on-Dee: 4:30 Yorton Stud Mares’ Handicap Hurdle 2m3½f
Dazzling Glory may have needed the run on her reappearance at Market Rasen in September, but resumed winning ways on her first attempt over 2 miles 4 furlongs at Sedgefield earlier this month. She may benefit from an even stiffer test of stamina in due course but, for now, a 7lb rise in the weights doesn’t look insurmountable and she can make it three wins from four starts over hurdles.
Selection: Dazzling Glory (9/2 with William Hill)
Newcastle: 6:10 MansionBet Beaten By A Head Handicap 1m
Rich Dream proved no match for subsequent winner Greystoke on his Tapeta debut at Wolverhampton back in April, but ran well enough on his return to action at Hamilton in August to suggest he is realistically handicapped. Indeed, he takes a slight drop in class off a 1lb lower mark than at Hamilton and, after just four starts, remains open to significant improvement.
Selection: Rich Dream (4/1 with William Hill)
