ITV Racing Tips for Cheltenham on Friday 11th November

ITV Racing Tips

1:45 Cheltenham

The first race of the November meeting live on ITV comes up at 1:45 and it is a trappy handicap chase over 2m.

The one for me here is GREY DIAMOND (4/1). Sam Thomas has started the season in fine fettle and his horses very rarely lack for fitness on their seasonal reappearances. Grey Diamond ran consistently well in similar handicaps last season and would have won last time out at Wincanton barring a horrendous mistake at the last fence. He returns off the same mark of 131 and gets a fair chunk of weight off his market rivals.

2:20 Cheltenham

The 2:20 contest from HQ is another intriguing handicap chase, time time over 2m4f and limited to the novices.

The one I like here is PULL AWAY GREEN (7/2). He ran at the October meeting here and travelled well for a long time before weakening late on. He looked in need of the run that day and I think we may well say a fair amount of improvement now he’s had that run and has got chasing experience on side. He’s 3/3 on good to soft ground has a win here at Cheltenham. Fergal O’Brien loves a winner here and his stable is in decent enough form at the moment.

2:55 Cheltenham

Next up is the turn of the Veterans as they compete in a handicap chase over 2m4f.

The one for me here is MAGIC DANCER (9/2) for the Kerry Lee stable. He runs well fresh, he likes a quick surface and he has strong course form. He’ll also be well suited by this 2m4f trip and he may just have too many gears for his market principals who arguably want further than this. I always like the 10 year-olds in these veteran races too and he’s one of them.

3:30 Cheltenham

The last race on ITV is the Grade 2 Ballymore Novices Hurdle over 2m5f.

I like WEVEALLBEENCAUGHT (4/1) here for the Twiston-Davies yard. A winner on his only point-to-point, he then made a winning debut under rules at Newbury showing a good attitude to win over 2m. He wants further so this step up to 2m5f will be right up his street and he obviously has scope to continue improving. I think he’s a very good novice
