ITV Racing Tips for Saturday from Goodwood, Beverley and Newmarket

Our ITV racing tips for this weekend come from Beverley, Goodwood and Newmarket and the action gets underway at 1.30pm. As ever, Henry has been through the card and picked his best bet from each race.
Once again we have a new sign-up offer to get stuck into this weekend and this time around it comes from The Pools where you’ll get £20 in free bets when you sign-up and bet £10 on today’s racing.
1:30 Beverley
The first race from Beverley on ITV is at 1:30 and it’s a tricky handicap over the extended 7f trip.
The one for me here is MAJESTIC (4/1). Easily the most unexposed in this race, I think he can continue on an upward curve and take this. He’s improved with every run and got his head in front last time out at Pontefract on just his fifth career start. He has form on all ground so any rain in the area won’t hold any fears and a nice draw of stall 4 is the icing on the cake for me.
1:50 Goodwood
The 1:50 is a Group 3 for the fillies over the 7f trip.
I like FAIRY CROSS (5/2) here for the Godolphin team here. She ran in a decent enough maiden on debut finishing fifth before improving to win back there on her second start. She ran well last time out at Sandown where she just failed to hold off the winner to finish second. On breeding, she’ll appreciate the rain that has fell at Goodwood and I’d expect her to continue improving like most Dubawi 2 year-olds from this yard.
2:05 Beverley
The 2:05 from Beverley is the Silver Cup handicap over 1m2f.
I like WAIT TO EXCEL (9/4) here for the James Tate stable. A decent winner on his last two starts at Hamilton and Ripon, I think he can complete the hat-trick here today. He’s got that proven recent form whilst Post Impressionist has to bounce back following a couple of disappointing efforts. Wait To Excel likes to sit prominently which is ideal around this track and stall 1 should make it easy for him to bag the rail and prove tough to pass.
2:25 Goodwood
The 2:25 from Goodwood is a trappy wide-open 7f handicap for punters to get stuck into.
The one for me is TACARIB BAY (9/2) NB. The real improver in the line-up and it appears things have clicked on his last two starts. He was a good winner over this trip at Haydock two starts ago before running a cracker in a decent Ascot handicap over the mile trip last time out. He has proven form on soft ground which he gets here and the fact he has form over both 7f and a mile is ideal for a race like this on slow ground. He won’t be stopping. The stable obviously thought highly of him as he ran in the 2000 Guineas so hopefully he’s starting to show that promise now on the racecourse too.
2:40 Beverley
The feature race of the Beverley yearly calendar comes up next and it’s the famous Beverley Bullet over the 5f trip.
The one for me here is KING OF STARS (7/1) EW. Despite this being a fast 5f race, there doesn’t appear to be much pace on here except the selection so I’m hoping he gets his own way in front. He’s very speedy from the gates and although drawn in stall 9, I think he will have no problem getting to the front. He ran a cracker last time out in a decent handicap at York finishing second and I think he’ll hit the frame again today under ideal conditions at least.
3:00 Goodwood
Next up we have the March Stakes, a Group 3 with a 1/4 favourite and only four runners go to post.
No bet here, the odds on jolly should win this as he’s 18lb clear of the next in the market.
3:15 Newmarket
The 3:15 is the one race from Newmarket on ITV and it is a decent listed contest over 6f.
It’s GREAT AMBASSADOR (10/3) NAP here for me. He come to the boil around this time last year and looking back at his last run in the Stewards Cup, he looks as though he’s ready to win again. He was an unlucky 6th in that big handicap staying on strongly despite getting no luck in running. This race today doesn’t look half as competitive as that Stewards Cup. He’s a course and distance winner here which is a bonus and I think a repeat of that effort last time out will be enough to take this contest.
3:35 Goodwood
The finale is the Celebration Mile, a Group 2 over the mile with five runners scheduled to line-up.
I’ll chance JADOOMI (7/2) here at the prices. Mutasaabeq probably doesn’t win as often as he should so I would t be keen on taken a short price on him. Jadoomi spent a while on the sidelines before making a winning return at listed level last time out in France. There was a bit of cut in the ground that day so the soft ground he gets today should hold no fears. William Buick is a positive jockey booking and I think he should be closer to the favourite in the market.
