ITV Racing Tips: Race-by-race Guide to Sunday’s Cards
ITV Racing presents a veritable feast for stay-at-home punters on Sunday, with no fewer than nine top-class races from both sides of the Irish Sea.
We’ve burnt the proverbial midnight oil and come up with a selection in each of them including the Irish Champion Hurdle where Honeysuckle will look to preserve her unbeaten record and four more races from the Dublin Racing Festival at Leopardstown.

Leopardstown
1:20 Ladbrokes Novice Chase 2m5f61y
Galopin Des Champs finished last season on a high and the form of his impressive seasonal debut, over course and distance, over Christmas has worked out well enough to suggest he is one to follow. He is the choice of stable jockey Paul Townend from four Willie Mullins-trained entries and the hint may be worth taking.
Selection: Galopin Des Champs (4/7 with William Hill)
1:50 Ladbrokes Dublin Chase 2m1f
Back on home soil, Chacun Pour Soi may well leave his dismal effort in the Tingle Creek Chase at Sandown behind but, despite his apparent superiority over his rivals, doesn’t inspire confidence at a short price. Officially, the Tingle Creek winner Greaneteen has 10lb to find, but looks a safer proposition from a betting perspective.
Selection: Greaneteen (10/3 with Bet365)
2:25 Bulmers Secret Orchard Leopardstown Handicap Chase 2m5f61y
Winning pointer Fakir D’Alene has made a decent start to his steeplechasing career over regulation fences, winning two of his three starts, and may yet have more to offer. A 5lb rise for his most recent victory at Thurles last month seems fair enough and he can take another step forward here.
Selection: Fakir D’Alene (10/1 with Paddy Power)
3:00 Chanelle Pharma Irish Champion Hurdle 2m
Honeysuckle hasn’t been seen in public since extending her unbeaten sequence under Rules to 13 races at Fairyhouse in late November, but is impossible to oppose. Even without her 7lb mares’ allowance, she officially has 6lb and upwards in hand of her rivals and can win this race for the third year running.
Selection: Honeysuckle (3/10 with Betfred)
3:35 Tattersalls Ireland Novice Hurdle 2m
Willie Mullins once again saddles four, but it could be worth chancing My Mate Mozzie, who wasn’t helped by a mistake at the final flight when headed in the final strides by Statuaire at Fairyhouse in November. Usually a sound jumper, his two wins over hurdles have come on good going, but he acts on softer.
Selection: My Mate Mozzie (7/1 with bet365)

Musselburgh
1:32 bet365 Scottish Triumph Hurdle 1m7f124y
Inca Prince is 2-2, including a course and distance win, since joining Ruth Jefferson from Cormac Farrell in December and may be progressive enough to make a successful step up in class. A free-going sort, he doesn’t have much to find with the best of these on official ratings and could lead his rivals a merry dance.
Selection: Inca Prince (10/3 with Paddy Power)
2:05 bet365 Scottish Supreme Novices’ Hurdle 1m7f124y
Since Day One has done precious little wrong in three starts over hurdles and looks the type to follow until beaten. The Fame And Glory faces far and away his stiffest task to date, but is clearly on an upward curve and may prove equal to the task.
Selection: Since Day One (5/2 with Betvictor)
2:40 Pertemps Network Group Handicap Hurdle 3m
Wakool has found a jolt of improvement, officially 25lb, since returning to action over course and distance in November and may still be ahead of the handicapper. Certainly, he looked better than ever when travelling and jumping well to win at Ayr five weeks ago and a 9lb rise in the weights may not be enough to stop him.
Selection: Wakool (7/2 with Bet365)
3:15 Musselburgh bet365 Scottish Champion Handicap Chase 2m
Sarasota Star has continued to creep up the weights, despite finishing second the last twice, but looks to have been found a decent opportunity to resume winning ways. He wasn’t beaten far in a small race at Taunton last time, off a 2lb lower mark, despite his jockey losing his irons at the final fence and can make amends.
Selection: Sarasota Star (11/4 with Coral)
