JIBIR – Ascot Gold Cup (Thursday)

The Ascot Gold Cup looks an open race this year and the places will certainly be up for grabs. Jibir is a monkey of a horse but with bags of talent and if he can be ridden quietly off the pace, his turn of foot can see him at least run into the frame. We’re predicted good to firm ground in Berkshire so that will only help his cause and with question marks about a few of these runners, Jibir is taken as an each-way bet.

 

MAMMAS GIRL – Coronation Stakes (Friday)

Amo Racing are really making waves on the flat and they’ll surely get a Royal Ascot winner this year, after coming so close 12 months ago. Mammas Girl was unsuited by the slower conditions in the 1000 Guineas and a return to quick ground will help.

She won the Nell Gwyn at Newmarket on her return to racing as a 3 year old and although both of her wins have been at Newmarket, hopefully she can transfer that form to Ascot’s flat track.

 

KINGS LYNN – Wokingham Handicap (Saturday)

The last race of the week is the Wokingham Handicap and it is a real get-out-of-jail stakes if you can find the winner. In what is always a wide open race, a chance is taken on the Royal runner Kings Lynn, who likes Ascot. He was third in this race two years ago and ran well at Chester over 5f last time out to finish second. He remains on the same mark.
