Sandown: 3:15 Seeyouatmidnight Veterans’ Handicap Chase 3m

Mr Mafia (NAP) is on a career-high mark, but seems better than ever as a 12-year-old and toyed with the opposition when making all to win a 0-125 contest at Wincanton last month. A 7lb rise in the weights for that easy, 16-length victory looks entirely fair, but has necessitated another rise in class. Even so, Martin Keighley’s charge could lead his fellow veterans a merry dance over these tricky fences.

Selection: Mr Mafia (5/2 with William Hill)

Sandown: 2:45 Kingston Handicap Hurdle 2m

On To Victory (NB) has done all his winning on good to soft, or soft, going and looks realistically handicapped on his return to hurdles. He is, in fact, 1lb lower in the weights than when third in the valuable bet365 Novices’ Championship Final over course and distance in April, when the going was probably faster than ideal. He’s hardly set the world alight on the Flat this year, but should strip fitter than his rivals, having run as recently as late September.

Selection: On To Victory (9/4 with William Hill)

Ffos Las: 1:55 Follow @starsports_bet On Twitter Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase 2m

Winning pointer Up For Parol (NAP) is bred to be a champion and looks to have been found a decent opportunity to open his account over regulation fences at the first time of asking. The Flemensfirth gelding had a pipe-opener in the Grade 2 Persian War Novices’ Hurdle at Chepstow last month and, although well beaten on that occasion, remains open to any amount of improvement. He could be one to follow.

Selection: Up For Parol (4/1 with William Hill)

Ffos Las: 4:10 Download The Star Sports App Handicap Chase 2m

On his last visit to Ffos Las, nearly a year ago, Desque De L’Isle (NB) was sent off even money favourite for a similar event, only to lose all chance when hampered by a loose horse at the fourth-last fence. He subsequently ran inexplicably badly at Wincanton in February but, following a wind operation shortly afterwards, returns to action off a 3lb lower mark. He won his first two starts last season, on soft going, so must have a decent chance of making a winning reappearance.

Selection: Desque De L’Isle (5/1 with William Hill)
