The Europa League Quarter Finals continue with Shakhtar Donetsk facing off against FC Basel and Wolves vs Sevilla tonight, the the two remaining semi-final places up for grabs.

He has now scored in his last nine Europa League matches. Tonight, Wolves will be trying to make it two Premier League teams in the last four but a Sevilla side who have a tremendous record in this competition will be standing in their way.

FC Basel finished third in the Swiss league 14 points behind Young Boys. They were knocked out at Champions League qualifying stage by Austrian side LASK. Since then they have topped their Europa League group and knocked out APOEL and Eintracht Frankfurt.

Shakhtar are the favourites for this one-off quarter-final tie and with good reason. The Ukrainians have already beaten Champions League quarter-finalists Atalanta and drawn with Manchester City this season. Basel have come unstuck against better opponents this season in Europe and Shakhtar may just be the best they’ve faced.

 

Sevilla vs Wolves Predictions

Sevilla finished fourth in La Liga after going unbeaten since the restart. They topped their Europa League group with five wins and a loss before edging past Cluj on away goals in the first knock-out round. A 2-0 win over Roma set up a tie with Wolves.

Wolves finished seventh in the Premier League, just missing out on a European qualification spot on the final day. Having finished second in their Europa League group, they knocked out Espanyol in the first knockout round followed by Olympiakos in the last.

Although Wolves restarted strongly, their form has tailed off in recent weeks. Defeats to Arsenal, Sheffield United and Chelsea in their last six league games are understandable but concerning all the same.

The draw hasn’t been kind for Wolves and Sevilla will cause them issues. This tie could go the distance with two well-matched sides.
