Barnsley vs Luton: Draw

Barnsley got their first win or the season against Coventry on Saturday thanks to a first half goal from Dominik Frieser.

Luton were beaten 3-2 at West Brom but were 3-0 down after 66 minutes.

The Hatters were convincing winners on the opening day of the season though, beating Peterborough United 3-0.

Both of these sides will fancy their chances here and Barnsley do have home advantage, but Luton have scored five goals in two games and can take a point back south.

Blackpool vs Coventry

Blackpool lost 2-0 at home to Cardiff at the weekend and only managed a 1-1 draw against Bristol City in their opening game of the season.

They had an xG of just 0.42 at home to Cardiff on Saturday and allowed Cardiff 17 shots.

Coventry lost 1-0 at home to Barnsley on Saturday but did miss some big chances, coming away with an xG of 1.83.

The away side are the value bet based on the stats here and we can probably put their loss on Saturday down to some very good Barnsley goalkeeping.

Peterborough vs Cardiff

Peterborough needed a 100th minute goal to beat Derby County 2-1 on Saturday lunchtime and lost 3-0 in their opening match of the season, away at Luton.

Posh are usually good value for goals at both ends and had an xG of 1.39 on Saturday, managing 13 shots.

Cardiff are fancied by many for promotion and beat Blackpool 2-0 on Saturday, peppering the opposition goal with 17 shots.

Their xG was 3.01 in that match and they should have had more than their 3 goals. Peterborough have the home advantage here so should find the net and land our BTTS tip.

Reading vs Bristol City

Reading got their first win of the season against Preston on Saturday, after losing 3-2 vs Stoke on the opening weekend.

Finishing let them down a bit in their 2-1 win, hitting the target just twice in 12 attempts.

Bristol City are tipped to struggle this season and they’ve picked up just a point so far.

They lose 2-1 at Middlesbrough on Saturday, conceding an xG of 2.49. Home advantage should give Reading the better of this match and if they can improve their finishing they should get the three points.
