Blackburn vs Barnsley – Blackburn Win

Tony Mowbray’s side have endured a rocky period of late, but they’re always fairly reliable at home and they should be able to take three points from this fixture at Ewood Park. They’ve won 38% of their matches here this season and they rarely fail to find the back of the net. They’ve netted twice against both Huddersfield and Sheffield Wednesday here of late and you get the feeling that if they can repeat the trick here, it could be enough to secure victory against a struggling Barnsley side. The Tykes started to pick up under temporary management, however they slipped to a 4-2 defeat under caretaker Adam Murray prior to the International Break and the arrive of Gerhard Struber is unlikely to be enough to guide them to victory in this one. They’ve conceded nine times in their last three away matches and they could find Rovers too lively in the final third.

Huddersfield vs Birmingham – Huddersfield Win

Huddersfield have picked up under the Cowleys, however they were outclassed by Preston two weeks ago. The Terriers are always tough to beat in West Yorkshire and they should be able to get back on track against a poor-travelling Brum. The hosts lost each of their first four home matches, but they’ve remained unbeaten since at the John Smiths and the fans will be expecting their side to continue that sequence. Birmingham are a curious side, who every so often pull off a major shock on the road. However, they’re generally less effective on their travels and have lost each of their last four. They conceded four to Cardiff despite being the better side three weeks ago and they could suffer a fifth consecutive away defeat on Saturday afternoon.

West Brom vs Sheffield Wednesday – Both Teams to Score? Yes

WBA have become adept at keeping clean sheets on their travels this season, but shutouts continue to elude them at the Hawthornes. They’ve drawn their last two games here by the same scoreline (2-2) and despite not playing any of the top ten sides in the Black Country, they are yet to keep anyone off the scoresheet. As a result, BTTS has landed in every single one of their matches here. Sheff Wed have been leaky of late and they’ve conceded four goals in their last two outings. Away from home, Wednesday have kept just a single clean sheet and that came against a struggling Huddersfield side in Garry Monk’s first game in charge. They failed to score at the KCOM, however they should be able to find the back of the net in this one.
