The Premier League teams involved in European competition enter the Carabao Cup this week and Arsenal will be one of the teams looking to avoid an upset against a Nottingham Forest side who will go to the Emirates Stadium in great form.

The Gunners will be keen to avoid an upset in this third round match on Tuesday night, but with the changes Unai Emery is likely to make to his starting 11, Sabri Lamouchi will be hoping his side can get a result and shock Arsenal.

Uni Emery’s side came back from 1-0 and 2-1 down to beat Aston Villa at the weekend – a result that will have taken some pressure off Emery following the poor 2-2 draw against Watford. So far this season, Nottingham Forest have comfortably got past Fleetwood Town (1-0) and Derby County (3-0) in home matches. In last season’s competition, they made it to the fourth round before a disappointing loss to Burton Albion and they beat Stoke City and Premier League Newcastle on the way.

They’ve scored in their last nine Carabao Cup matches – the last time that they failed to score was in a 4-0 defeat against tonight’s opponents back in the 2016 tournament. That will give the Forest fans who are traveling to the Emirates hope and both teams to score would be a good bet based on this form.

Lewis Grabban is Forest’s top scorer so far this season but it was Ben Watson who got the winner against Barnsley at the weekend. There are some exciting players in the Forest squad including Portuguese duette Tiago Silva and Joao Carvalho.

How many changes will Unai Emery make?

There is no doubt that the Arsenal defence is struggling this season, and with Maitland-Niles now suspended after his sending off against Aston Villa, there is another hole to fill in the defence. Aumameyang will almost certainly get a rest after playing in the Europa League match last week, before scoring the winner from a free kick on Saturday and with Lacazette injured, they are short of attacking players.

Mesut Ozil is a likely starter and exciting talent Reiss Nelson will likely be in the 11. That will probably see Pepe given a rest and one of the defensive pairing will also be changed.
