Prediction: Cristiano Ronaldo Anytime Scorer

Portugal’s last international didn’t quite go to plan. France took a deserved lead and the Portuguese responded with an improved second-half display but they couldn’t finish off any of their chances. The defeat means Portugal now have little to play for.

Cristiano Ronaldo wasn’t able to add to his remarkable international goal tally but will no doubt see this as an opportunity to do so. His teammates will be doing everything they can to supply him with chances and a leaky Croatia defence is likely to present Portugal with opportunities.

 

France vs Sweden

Prediction: France to Win

The pressure is off after France secured to the Nations League knockouts. Their opponents, Sweden are on the precipice of relegation but gave themselves hope with a win over Croatia. Sweden have scored just three goals in five games, all of which came against Croatia.

The French defence has held firm against Portugal twice, and conceded just three so far. Despite what’s at stake for the visitors, the world champions should still take all three points with relative ease.

 

Spain vs Germany

Prediction: Both Teams to Score

It’s not been vintage by any stretch for either of these two former world champions. Germany currently top the group with an unbeaten record but have drawn three of those five games. They’ve conceded seven so far and failed to keep a clean sheet. Meanwhile, Spain have conceded just three but only have eight points to show for it.

The reverse fixture finished 1-1 back in September and the winner this time around will win the group. A draw suits Germany but with no shut outs to date, it’s likely both teams score, regardless of the outcome.

 

Switzerland vs Ukraine

Prediction: Both Teams to Score

Playing for survival in the top division of the Nations League, Ukraine have the upper hand going into this one. A draw will see them safe with Ukraine have just one clean sheet to their name so far.

Switzerland have faired even worse defensively, failing to keep a clean sheet. They have, however, only conceded eight compared to Ukraine’s 10. The game ended in a 2-1 victory for Ukraine who have given a good account of themselves against the top sides.

Switzerland will need to be on the front foot which should tilt this game towards both teams finding the back of the net.

 

Gibraltar vs Liechtenstein

Prediction: Both Teams to Score – No

Five group games in Group 2 of the lowest Nations League tier have produced just four goals in total. Three of those have come against San Marino. The other was the winner the last time these two sides met as Gibraltar took all three points.

Another cagey game with few chances is likely to take place as Gibraltar look for the home point they need to secure promotion. Both teams scoring seems highly unlikely.
