That defeat on Saturday means Chelsea have now gone three games without a win in all competitions. They lost 2-1 at Manchester City before being involved in a thrilling 2-2 draw against Valencia in the Champions League. Prior to those back to back Premier League defeats Chelsea had won their previous six matches in the top flight and Frank Lampard will be desperate to see his side get back to winning ways tonight.

Aston Villa are having a solid season back in the Premier League and picked up a 2-2 draw away to Manchester United last time out. They’ve only beaten Norwich away from home in the league this season and also beat Brighton away in the League Cup. They do tend to find the net through having scored in five of their last six away matches.

With that in mind,  we could have an open game at Stamford Bridge tonight even though Chelsea have kept clean sheets against Crystal Palace, Newcastle and Brighton already at home this season. With Tammy Abraham a huge doubt for this match, Frank Lampard might choose to play Christian Pulisic in the central role ahead of Olivier Giroud. Giroud started against West Ham but didn’t really make an impact and Pulisic is in great form in-front of goal since getting back into the team. My anytime goalscorer tip for this match is, therefore, going to be Pulisic. Willian would be another option here and if Callum Hudson-Odi gets into the starting line-up. However, the odds for Pulisic are 8/5 with Paddy Power to score anytime and that looks a good bet.

The last Chelsea vs Aston Villa prediction for tonight’s game is a correct score bet and I need to back up my BTTS and win betting tip here. I do expect a Chelsea win but without Abraham in the starting line-up this might be a closer game than people expect.
