Newcastle vs Fulham Predictions and Betting Tips: Premier League Preview

Newcastle betting tips

Newcastle vs Fulham predictions and Premier League betting tips for this week’s fixture. Kick-off is 15:00 on Saturday 22nd December with Newcastle looking to rediscover the form that saw them win three in a row before suffering defeat at home to West Ham earlier this month.

Expert Tipster Prediction: It doesn’t take a brave man to favour the Geordies here given Fulham’s current plight – despite the recent appointment of Claudio Ranieri. There’s been so real sign of improvement just yet and the west Londoners currently prop up the Premier League table.

Newcastle vs Fulham Predictions

It wasn’t that long ago that Rafa Benitez was being touted for the sack until a trio of victories helped steer his side out of trouble to relieve some pressure. The Magpies then endured three games without a win before winning at Huddersfield last weekend. It’s fair to say it’s been a stop-start campaign for Newcastle but at least they’re not anchored at the bottom of the table. Their opponents this weekend, however, are. Despite over £100million being spent in the summer, Fulham have struggled to adapt to life in the top flight and look destined for a swift return to the Championship unless things prove drastically. I don’t expect things to change much on Saturday, so take the 11/10 available on a home win at St. James’s Park.

Saloman Rondon showed signs of becoming a decent and reliable forward whilst at West Bromwich Albion although it never really quite happened for him at the Baggies. At Newcastle, though, the South American forward looks a lot more dependable than the somewhat inconsistent version we became accustomed to seeing turn out at The Hawthorns. Rondon bagged the only goal of the game against Huddersfield last week and has chipped in with goals more frequently than he’d done previously before making the switch to the North East. Can he repeat the trick here? 17/10 anytime says he can.

If only home form was taken into consideration then Newcastle would be one from bottom going into the Christmas period. A galling stat for the St. James’s faithful, Rafa’s men have won just twice in front of their own fans this season – something that needs to improve quickly. Thankfully, though, they’re up against one of only two team Premier League teams yet to win on the road. Newcastle don’t really do drubbings, but the arrival of a leaky Fulham defence certainly bodes well and should be exploited if the hosts go for the throat. I like the look of a 2-0 home win here, which is a 9/1 shot with Bet365.

Newcastle vs Fulham Betting Odds

Newcastle to win – 11/10

Draw – 13/5

Fulham to win – 3/1

In the case of Fulham, it’s a very simple equation. Their tally of just six goals away from Craven Cottage is not conducive to winning football matches very often, particularly when combined with a somewhat undesirable tendency to average conceding almost three goals every single away match.

For me, the 3/1 up for grabs on an away win is distinctly under-priced – or at least it would be if you could say for certainly which Newcastle will turn up.

Both teams to score, for all you optimists out there, is 10/11 at a number of firms but surely best avoided.
