Tottenham vs Watford Preview: 19/10/2019 Premier League

Tottenham slid down to ninth before the international break. Their loss to Brighton capped off a miserable week for Pochettino as his side lost 7-2 to Bayern midweek. Having also dropped points to Newcastle, Spurs cannot afford another slip up here as they are already well adrift of Liverpool at the top of the Premier League, but also falling behind in the Champions League qualification race even at this early stage.

Things are getting pretty desperate for Watford. As we reach the quarter way stage of the Premier League campaign, The Hornets are still without a league win. They have scored just four goals in eight games, failing to score in five of them. Only Norwich have conceded more than their 20 goals this season and a new manager has already been appointed. There seems to be very little stability at the club and that is hindering them on the pitch. The 8-0 loss to Manchester City was a very low point in their campaign.

 

Another heavy defeat for The Hornets

Tottenham need a result after their recent performances. Harry Kane is showing consistent form with attacking returns in six of his last seven for club and country. Serge Aurier, who grabbed to assists against Crystal Palace returns and Heung-Min Son should see some game time after international duty with South Korea. Their blunt attack and leaky defence will do Watford no favours against a side determined to get back on track. Kane’s consistent form should be enough to fire them to a comfortable victory. The England captain scored in both Euro 2020 qualifying matches during the break and it’d be no surprise to see him bag a few at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this weekend either. A 4-0 home win is priced at 18/1 and that looks a good price in what should be an easy win for Spurs, despite their recent form.
