West Ham vs Manchester City Preview

There have been some high scoring matches between these two teams in recent seasons, and Manchester City usually come out on top. They come into this game off the back of a penalty shootout win against Liverpool in the Community Shield and will be looking to get off to the best possible start in their quest to keep hold of the Premier League title for a third successive season. Rodri has arrived from Atletico Madrid to strengthen their midfield options, but Sergio Aguero might not be back from his break after the Copa America, so expect Gabriel Jesus or Raheen Sterling to play through the middle.

The Hammers are set for a good season and have strengthened with big money striker Sebastien Haller and playmaker Pablo Fornals. Arnautovic has gone so they’ll be hoping Haller can hit the ground running in front of goal. Pre-season has been a mixed bag for Pellegrini’s side and they have already met Man City this summer – losing 4-1 to them in the Premier League Asia Trophy. We cannot look past a Manchester City victory in this match, but it would be no surprise to see the Hammers get on the scoresheet. City have scored four goals in three of the last four matches againt this weekend’s opponents and Pep Guardiola will be hoping his players can hit the ground running again this season.
